Chiechama women hold pre-centenary retreat

In view of the 100 years celebration of Christianity at Chiechama village scheduled for December 17-19, Dimapur Chiechama Women (DCW) held a pre-centenary retreat at Life Spring Corner Dimapur on Wednesday.
Over 200 Chiechamiapfüko (women) from all denominations residing in Dimapur area gathered to attend the retreat, which was held as a reflective spiritual preparation for the 100 years centenary celebration.
Little Star Higher Secondary School Dimapur proprietor, Nini Sekhose Paira and Generation Ministries of India director, Menuo Keditsu were the main speakers of the programme.
The speakers delivered sermon on the topics ‘Jehovah is the Lord of our home’ and ‘Be a blessing to others through the Centenary Celebration’, and also focused on the significance of the centenary. They imparted that the occasion was a celebration of spirituality and a time for the people to introspect into their faith.
Chiechamiapfüko including ‘Khoyapfüko’, Chiechama women, who adopted other village/community by marriage, informed that they were preparing for the December programme by conducting fellowships of prayer and song practices on second Sundays of each month.
In 1910, Rev. Rivenberg baptized Lhourvi Metha of Chiechama village in the Northern Angami region, making him the first convert of the village and at the same time, marked the coming of Christianity to the village.
