In a historic landmark on October 9, Thüvopisümi and Rüzazhomi village resolved to end the past memory of conflict and dispute by uniting the two villages in peace and mutuality. Addressing the congregation, the speaker, Rev. Dr. P. Dozo stated that the greatest thing was when God brings a man’s past deeds such as warring disputes, enmity, conflicts and confrontations to reconcile based on humility, willingness and acceptance.
He said true achievement is a “common property” since God is the only source of success. He expressed that the new relationship between the two communities must grow into generation free from infliction of past memories and motivated by the inspiration of the modern world.
While adding that the customary pompous nature must be done away with, Dozo urged the villagers to remain faithful to God as they begin a journey towards a better future. Symbolic cleansing of burning spear/dao was exhibited by head G.Bs from both the villages, while exchange of Bible from “Thüvopisümi to Rüzazhomi with words of blessings and wishes” and “Rüzazhomi to Thüvopisümi with words of gratitude and wishes by the chairman of both villages was also witnessed on the occasion.
Zaseveyi Venyo, civil judge, Phek, exhorted the function.
