Naga Idol finalist road show cancelled
DIMAPUR: Naga Idol 5:10 finalist road show scheduled on October 15 in Wokha has been canceled. ‘Old Timers Wokha’ district partner of Naga Idol 5:10 tendered apology to the denizens of Wokha for the inconvenience caused by canceling the show. ‘Old Timers Wokha’ further informed those who have bought the tickets to contact 9612197250, 9402449241 and 9863897778 on or before October 18 to refund 75% from the actual cost of the ticket by producing the ticket.
Dumping of carton boxes prohibited
DIMAPUR: Kohima municipal council (KMC) as prohibited throwing of carton boxes inside dustbins within its jurisdiction. KMC administrator Alun Hangsing has directed all business establishments to fold the cartons and keep in respective shops which would be collected by an authorized collector every morning and evening. Stating prohibition was enforced to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the city, KMC notified that violators would be penalized.
Seminar for aspiring leaders
DIMAPUR: Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA), Naga Hoho and NSF would be jointly organizing one-day seminar for aspiring leaders on October 23, from 10 am to 1 pm at Zonal Council Hall under the theme, “Leadership Biblical style”. The seminar would be held with Rev. Luoliehu Yimsong, co-ordinator, Global Indigenous Prayer Network Australia (GIPNA) Ambassador at Large, Overseas Naga Association (ONA) as resource person. All NMA executive members have been requested to attend the seminar.
Workshop on ‘early cancer detection’
DIMAPUR: The department of health and family welfare would be organising state level workshop on ‘Early Cancer Detection’ for medical officers working in community health centres and primary health centres on October 20 at 9:30am in directorate conference hall, Kohima.
In this connection, director (family welfare) Dr. Imtimeren Jamir has requested all chief medical officers (CMOs) to detailed one medical officer (MBBS) from each CHC.
CMO Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur are further requested to detail one medical officer (MBBS) from each PHC to attend the technical workshop without fail. The director further directed all CMOs to furnish the participation report of the Medical Officers detailed for the programme.
Timber contractors union meeting
DIMAPUR: Timber contractors union (TCU) has convened a meeting on October 16, 10 am at its office at KC complex, Purana bazaar. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Tuensang DPDB meet
DIMAPUR: Tuensang district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting would be held on October 21. All members of the board have been informed to attend the meeting.
NCC colony meeting
DIMAPUR: Neiphrolie colony Chumukedima (NCC) within Seiu-ruzha Nalah to cemetery, Khova road has convened a general meeting on October 16, 9 am at the residence of C T Mar, colony chairman to discuss matter relating to the colony welfare. DIMAPUR: Dimapur District Citizen’s Forum (DDCF) has convened an executive meeting on October 23, 10 am at Thahekhu village council hall. All executive members, drafting committee members, advisors have been requested to attend the meeting.
Adhoc graduate teachers informed
DIMAPUR: Directorate of school education has informed all the adhoc graduate teachers (5 yrs as on 16-01-04) who had missed the suitability test conducted in ATI during June-July 2005 to re-submit all their relevant documents along with ACR for the last 5 yrs on or before October 29.
Peace committee, Assam, Nagaland meet
DIMAPUR: Peace committee, new team has convened its first meeting on October 19, 11 am at Tohoi village. Nine members from each states, commandant CRPF and border magistrate Assam and Nagaland have been requested to attend the meeting.
Classes for I and III semesters
DIMAPUR: Nagaland University has notified that the classes for I and III semesters would resume from October 25. All students have been informed to attend classes.
NH speaker felicitates new NGBF president
DIMAPUR: Naga Hoho speaker H.K. Zhimomi has congratulated the newly elected president of NGBF Zhenito Yepthomi. He expressed hope that the federation would see great achievements under Zhenito’s leadership and that he would strive to work better for the welfare of the GBs and the society.
Durga Puja greetings
DIMAPUR: Dimapur –I A/C MLA K.L Chishi, Dimapur District Citizen Forum and Zunheboto Town Council have extended greetings to Hindu community living in Dimapur and Zunheboto on the occasion of Durga Puja festival.
MLA, K.L Chishi said the festival signified the ‘good overcoming the evil’ and reminded the people to overcome evil and bring peace among different communities living in Dimapur and Nagaland. Dimapur District Citizen Forum also requested citizens of Dimapur to celebrate the festival and let the celebration be violence free.
Meanwhile, President and members of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce (DCC) has extended Durga Pooja greetings to all citizens of Dimapur. DCC also requested Pooja Pandals organisers to maintain good number of volunteers to curb heavy rush and assist in controlling traffic near their Pandals. It also urged every citizen to maintain peace and harmony during the festive period.
LDA result for Mon district
DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner & chairman district level selection committee, Mon has declared the result of written test for recruitment to the post of LDA cum computer assistant under Mon district. CIC to visit Mokokchung
DIMAPUR: Chief Information Commissioner, Nagaland would be visiting Mokokchung on October 20 where a meeting will be held at the deputy commissioner conference hall at 11 am to review mechanism for dealing with RTI matters and implementation in the Departments. In this connection, DC Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has informed all head of offices, public information officers (PIOs) and assistant public information officers (APIOs) of Mokokchung District to attend the meeting.
Truck laden with rice falls into a gorge
MON, Oct 14 (NPN): A truck bearing (NL-06 A 2728) carrying BPL rice skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Mon town on Thursday. The truck laden with 160 bags of BPL rice which was on its way to Mon fell into a 100 feet deep gorge injuring the driver and the helper. The driver was identified as K. Kumar and his helper as Ashok were admitted to civil hospital, Mon and were stated to be out of danger. The truck belongs to a contractor based in Dimapur.
