AR gifts community hall to Shiyong vill

A community hall constructed under Military Civil Action Project (MCAP), by the 6 Assam Rifles was inaugurated Friday by Colonel Rajesh Gajraj, Commanding Officer 6 AR, at Shiyong village, under Naginimora sub division of Mon district in the presence of the Angh, village council chairman, GBs and village elders.
Seeking cooperation from the villagers to maintain peace Colonel Rajesh Gajraj said, “Where there is peace, there is development. If peace continues to prevail, developmental activities will continue”.
He also maintained that the AR continues to work and contribute to the development of the local populace, despite the fact that the sanction for MCAP was limited.
While thanking the villagers for organizing the inaugural programme, he also requested them to maintain and take care of the hall. Honlei, Shiyong village council chairman while thanking the AR for constructing the community hall said “Had the AR not constructed the community hall, it would have taken 2-3 years for the villagers to fulfill their long cherished dream of having a community hall”.
Meanwhile, the AR also donated 25 chairs, one (1) Samsung colour TV with Dish TV connection and one table.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Pangkai, invocation prayer by Woklao, pastor and folk song was presented by T. Kemya and her troupe of Shiyong village.
