UNLF chairman held

Proscribed united national liberation front (UNLF) today confirmed the arrest of its chairman R.K. Meghen, a.k.a Sanayaima in Dhaka, Bangladesh. UNLF vice-chairman Kh Pambei Saturday, in an e-mail statement, said their chairman R.K. Meghen, a.k.a Sanayaima, was arrested by the sleuths of Bangladesh and India from Lalmatia, under Mohammadpur police station, Dhaka September 29. He also said that Bangladesh government, after detaining R.K. Meghen for around 10 days, extradite to India in spite of request from UNLF for his release. “But, Bangladesh government in collusion with Indian government quietly shifted him to New Delhi on October 13 and keeping him confined in an undisclosed place violating all international laws,” said Kh Pambei. Stating that till now India government was not disclosing his whereabouts, the UNLF termed it as violation of international law and habit of the “colonial India”. “Even though, the leader has been arrested, UNLF and its armed wing, Manipur People’s Army (MPA) will continue its struggle till the liberation struggle bears fruit,” the statement added.
