DIMAPUR: Friends Missionary Prayer Band (FMPB) has informed that it would be bringing out the 4th edition of Dimapur and Kohima Christian directory. RJD 41 A/C meeting held
DIMAPUR: RJD 41 A/C Tizit office bearers and executive members held a meeting on October 11. Presidents and general secretaries of RJD Tizit town unit youth and area Mahila unit also attended the meeting where the house resolved to strengthen the structure of the party. Members also suggested that it would hold coordination meeting with office bearers of state level RJD.

SASARD foundation day cum freshers social
DIMAPUR: The 32nd SASARD foundation day cum 16 annual freshers’ social will be held on October 20 with Ralanthung Yanthan, deputy speaker, NLA as chief guest. The function will also witness alumni award ceremony. SASARD students union has requested all SASARD alumni to be present on the occasion.

Anti-rabies vaccination camp at Satakha
DIMAPUR: The department of veterinary and animal husbandry in collaboration with ATMA, Zunheboto conducted anti-rabies vaccination camp at Satakha, Zunheboto on October 5. Dr. Khashepu, D.V&A.H.O highlighted to the pet owners about the importance of rabies, its vaccination and prevention. The camp was assisted by Dr. Michael Imti Imchen, VAS and staff, district veterinary hospital, Zunheboto. Altogether 260 pets were vaccinated.
IMFL seized along NH-39
DIMAPUR: District excise and prohibition enforcement personnel on the night of October 11 seized a total of 110 cases of assorted IMFL/Beer from Kohima bound Scropio ML-10-8275 on NH-39 at Chumukedima area. The two accused were identified as Vika Sumi (24), s/o Kheyaho Sumi of Purana Bazaar and Ato Angami (20), s/o Vengosa Angami of Purana Bazaar. The seizure and arrest was carried out under the joint command of Inspector Khevito along with AIE Shihai Yetho and excise constables Khekavi and Jonah
KRE bi-annual session cum picnic
DIMAPUR: The Kohima Riphyim Ekhung (KRE) held its bi-annual session cum picnic at Kisama Heriatge Complex on October 9 with E.M Patton, IA & AS, commissioner & secretary, planning & co-ordination, as chief guest. Y. Patton, parliamentary secretary, geology & mining, irrigation & flood control who attended the session also exhorted the crowd. The union further expressed gratitude to those who contributed towards the union through financial and material assistance. Meanwhile, the house also elected a new team of office bearers for the session 2011 to 2013 with K. Mhonthung Odyuo as chairman, Yimtsu Patton as v/chairman, M Renthungo Tungoe as general secretary Peter Humtsoe as joint secretary, Konthungo Odyuo as treasurer and S Yanpamo Odyuo and Renthungo Ezung as colony representatives.
Selected candidates for army recruitment rallies
DIMAPUR: Candidates who were provisionally selected in Indian army and have been issued call up letters from army recruiting office, Rangapahar that dispatch dates has been changed from September 1-4 to December 11, September 6-10 to December 13, September 13 to December 14, September 14 to December 15, September 15 to December 16, September 16 to December 18 and September 17 to December 20. Candidates have been further requested to report to army recruiting office Rangapahar by 7am on the revised date and that no changes to other instructions would be given in the call letter. SCCSU new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Sao Chang government college (SCCSU) Tuensang held its election for the session 2010-2011 on October 7 at its college premises and elected a new office bearers with Sangbou Chang as general secretary, Monglong as assistant general secretary, Tsarili as games & sports secretary, Theriliba as national social service secretary, Kumcho as literary cum cultural secretary, Dolan as boys common room secretary, Yopongkohla as girls common room secretary and Naset Chollen Chang as auditor.
Formation of FFS in Chozuba
DIMAPUR: Department of agriculture conducted formation of Farmer’s Field School (FFS) and training on integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetables at Chozuba village on October 12. Altogether 30 vegetable farmers were included in FFS and training on vegetable was imparted to the farmers. IPM, Sarhunyi Dukru, agriculture officer, Chozuba delivered the keynote address and Ronchamo Kikon, agriculture officer, Chozuba spoke on integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetables. Also different vegetable seeds were distributed among the trainees along with bio-pesticides and bio-fertilizers.
Enrolment of primary, active NPF members
DIMAPUR: Longleng district in-charge Bangtik Phom, ex-parliamentary secretary and C.E.C member H. Nyemli 49 Tamlu A/C, president NPF Tamlu area M. Ape Phom, president youth wing Pongsen Konyak toured villages under 49 Tamlu A/C in consultation with the village council, village elders and NPF part leaders/workers for the enrolment of primary/active member. The team successfully selected NPF office bearers for village level, reorganized NPF part under 49 A/C Tamlu. 49 Tamlu A/C leaders and village elders and village council members strongly felt that Neiphiu Rio, chief minister and Dr. Shurhozelie, president would lead Nagas on the right path and do justice on all fronts. While appreciating the developmental achievements brought about on the backward and downtrodden areas, the members also expressed hope for similar achievements in the future and extended its full strength and support to the party.

MDM sensitization held
KOHIMA: A one day sensitization programme on mid day meal (MDM) was conducted on October 12 at EBRC L. Khel Kohima with Zaveyi Nyeikha, DEO Kohima and Dr. Zase Chusi, additional project director RMSA as the resource person. Head teachers, teachers in charge, VEC chairmen from all schools under the jurisdiction of Kohima attended the programme.
