Training of Nagaland Home Guards (NHG) volunteers who were selected at recruitment drive conducted on October 1 across the state through respective districts commandants offices got underway on October 8 at CD & HG Central Training Institute (CTI) Toluvi, Dimapur.
According to civil defence (CD) & HG PRO Dally Jamir, a total of 110 HG personnel and 27 jail warders (women) are undergoing for 60 days Basic HG training.
Home guards and jail warders are trained on basic drill with and without arms/cane, weapons training crowd control, traffic, patrolling and jail custody and management. Civil Defence training including fire fighting, first - aid, search and rescue and disaster management etc., were also imparted to the trainees. The training would culminate on December 6 on the occasion of CD & HQ Raising Day which is observed all over India.
