Peren district has observed the 11th ‘world sight day’ at district hospital Peren on October 14. Dr. Hedungkiebe, district nodal officer, NPCB Peren in the keynote address emphasized on the various activities carried out in the district under NPCB Peren.
Dr. B Yanger, MS district hospital Peren, as the main speaker of the function stressed on the theme ‘reaching the doorstep of the people to restore sight’ by encouraging the gathering not to be silent spectators but to make the public aware about blindness and to take various steps and measures in preventing them. Ex-chairman, Peren town council lauded on the commendable job of the NPCB, Peren and medical staff for restoring the sight of the blind in the district. Meanwhile, on October 13, a free cataract eye screening was held at district hospital, Peren. A total of 50 patients were examined by Dr. Hedungkiebe, district nodal officer, NPCB Peren and medicines were provided free of cost.
