Government of Nagaland has constituted a six member expert committee to draft the Nagaland biological diversity rules. The committee in series of meetings and wide range public consultation finally drafted the rules and has invited comments or validation of the draft rule-2010 through public consultation to be held in four headquarters at Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon.
The consultation meet in Kohima would be held on October 20, 10 am to 12 noon at DC’s conference hall. Representatives from Phek, Dimapur, Peren and Kohima have been invited in the meeting.
In Mon, it will be held on October 21, 2 pm at DC’s conference hall, representatives from Mon have been invited, in Tuensang on October 25, 10 am to 12 noon at DC’s conference hall, representatives from Kiphire, Longleng and Tuensang have been invited, in Mokokchung on October 26, 10 am to 12 noon at DC’s conference hall and representatives from Wokha, Zunheboto, Mokokchung districts have been requested to participate.
The following suggested list of persons to represent the consultation include district head office Agri. and allied departments, colleges, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon, town councils and municipal councils, chamber of commerce of Kohima, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Mon, police DEF and NAP battalions, district and sub-divisional administrations, tribal apex bodies and student organizations and concerned citizens.
Member secretary, expert committee for drafting Nagaland biological diversity rules, Vengotso Nakhro has requested the representatives attend the meet to give valuable inputs.
