Observing that currently there was complete violation of government policy and scheme for regularization of work-charge employees in the department, the All Nagaland PWD (R&B) & (H) work-charged employees’ association Tuesday said it would opt to move the court if the system of fresh appointment was given first privilege against available vacancy.
In a letter to Nagaland minister for PWD (R&B), the association president Khrielakuo Mepfuo and general secretary Kuhoshe Swu pointed out that as per the govt standing order 50% of all regular vacancies should be reserved for regularisation of work-charged employees.
The government order NO. AR-3/Gen-67/2001(Pt) says work charged employees will have the right to be considered first for regularization against 50% of all future vacancies of similar nature in the department for which they possess the requisite qualification. The order describes that such regularization would be considered on the basis of seniority-cum-merit. However, the association has noted that present appointment system was offering chances to fresh candidates instead of work charged employees.
In connection with this, the signatories appealed to the responsible department to safeguard the rights of work charged employees by providing vacancies to the departmental regularization board. Further, the association urged the department to prepare monthly regularized board sitting for the w/c employees or else it would choose to demonstrate against the department.
