Public leaders of Akuluto town area comprising of eight villages; Alaphumi, Lumtsami Sütemi, Shichimi, Naghuto old and new, Lokobomi and Lotisami held a consultative meeting on October 15 at Akuluto town.
According to a release issued by chairman, joint council, HK Sema and secretary, joint council, Z. Aye, the meeting was held with regard to neglect of Akuluto town by the government. The joint council during the meet re-examined the present deteriorating standard of the town and resolved to stand by the earlier decision of the joint council’s statement.
The core concern of the meeting were on issues related to post office and State Bank that had been shifted to Lumami, Nagaland University, absence of head master and inadequate teacher of government high school, and up-gradation of sub divisional to ADC head quarter.
The area leaders while demanding justice from the government, however expressed apprehension over non-compliance of the public demand, and has therefore resolved to initiate severe befitting measures (agitation) against the government to solve the grievances faced by the public.
