PWD engineers meeting
KOHIMA: Emergency general meeting of direct recruit engineers association, PWD has been convened on October 22 at 12noon, PWD Conference hall Kohima.
KBC music concert
KOHIMA: Khuzama Baptist Church (KBC) would be organizing music concert in aid of Baptist School Star band musical instrument on October 24, 2 pm at Khuzama Baptist Church. Renowned singers from Dimapur, Kohima, Japfü Christian College and local artists would be performing. Khuzama Baptist Church informed that free will offering would be collected.
UBCA executive meeting
DIMAPUR: United Baptist Churches Association (UBCA) North-East India (UBCA, NEI) has convened an emergency executive meeting on October 23, 9am at UBC Balijan, near LRC Dimapur. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
NSUS golden jubilee celebration
DIMAPUR: Naga student union Shillong (NSUS) would be celebrating its golden jubilee on October 22-23, 10 am at Naga community hall, Nagaland house, Nongrim hills, Shillong. Neiba Kronu, MLA, deputy chairman state planning board would the chief guest on October 22 and Charles Pyngrope, speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly would be the chief guest on October 23. There would be a traditional and cultural dance/ folk song competition, display of traditional dance by the 12 Naga sub-tribes including participation of 10 non-Naga communities.
DSSU executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Sumi student union (DSSU) has convened an executive meeting on October 22, 2 pm at the residence of its banker, at Notun bosti. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
NU semester results
DIMAPUR: The Nagaland University has declared the provisional results of MA 1st and 3rd semester History and Archaeology held in April 2010 and M Sc final semester of Horticulture, Entomology, Agri. Extension, Agri. Chemistry & Soil sciences, Agri. Economics, RD & Planning, Soil conservation, Genetics & plan Breeding, Animal production & Management and Agronomy of SASRD Nagaland university.
SJC Jakama fete day
DIMAPUR: St Joseph college (SJC) Jakama would be organizing fete day on October 26, 10 am in commemoration with its silver jubilee celebration. The management has invited all students, alumni’s, parents and well wishers to participate in the fete day.
ANCSU forms for sports meet
KOHIMA: All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has informed its units to collect necessary forms for the scheduled sports meet at ANCSU office between 11am to 2pm from October 25 onwards, for which an amount of `50 will be charged. MSUD executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Executive meeting of Merangkong students’ union Dimapur (MSUD) has been convened on October 23 at 1 p.m.
RWDA prayer fellowship
DIMAPUR: Rotomi Welfare Dimapur Area (RWDA) will be observing a prayer fellowship on October 23 at 6am at Sumi Baptist Church Sugar Mill Dimapur.
Dr. S. C Jamir to grace
DIMAPUR: ‘World Girl Guiding Centenary’ will be held at on October 22 at10am at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur with Dr. S. C. Jamir, life member, NSBSG, former governor of Maharastra and Goa as chief guest. Highlights of the celebration will be hoisting of NSBSG flag, special songs and folk dances and highlighting of ‘World Girl Guiding Centenary’ celebration followed by the chief guest’s speech and releasing of balloons. The celebration is for 3 years (2010-2012). The organizing committee has requested all Scouts & Guides, well- wishers and the general public to join them in the celebration.
Doyang fish for sale
DIMAPUR: The department of fisheries has informed that fresh Doyang fish would be on sale on October 22 from 7am to 5pm at P.R Hill junction, Kohima.
Body recovered
Dimapur, Oct 20 (NPN): Personnel of GRPS on Wednesday recovered a body of a male (non local) aged around 45 to 50 from platform no. 2, line no. 2 at Dimapur railway station. Police suspected that the deceased was hit by the train engine. The body has been kept at morgue for identification after observing legal formalities. Post-mortem would be conducted on Thursday, GRPS sources said. (Staff Reporter)
Camp for differently abled-person
DIMAPUR: All differently-abled person, beneficiary of Tuensang district who had attended assessment camp conducted by DSW and Indigenous Cultural Society Nagaland in early 2009 and September 11, 2009 have been requested to participate at distribution camp to be held on October 22, 9 am at Tuensang town hall. MLA Tuensang Sadar, P. Chuba would grace the occasion. All beneficiaries have been informed to reach the venue before 9am.
GPRN/NSCN terminates two
DIMAPUR: Secretary, Ministry of Kilo Affairs, GPRN/NSCN Khekiho Chophy, has issued termination order of Siebu Angami, assistant political organiser (APO), daughter of K Welie Angami, Angami region, for involvement in anti-social activities, detrimental to the interest of Naga nation with effect from October 8. GPRN/NSCN also discharged Private Tokivi Zhimo, son of Nitovi Zhimo, bearing Naga Army No. 17407, hailing from Sheyipu Village under Sumi Region from national service on account of ill health. According to MIP GPRN/NSCN the discharge order signed by Col. Aheto Chophy takes effect from October 12.
