PCDA to maintain peace along Assam border

A new union under the banner ‘Peace Committee Disturb Area’ (PCDA) Assam/Nagaland (ABC sector) was formed on October 19 meeting at Tohoi village with the joint decision of public leaders of both sides representing different communities living in DAB area.
The new union was formed with the objective to maintain peace and harmony, to oversee and take steps by solving the problems of anti-social activities, exchange cross cultural and sports activities, to encourage and improve developmental activities, protect the interest of the locality against any unlawful activities and to decide any matter referred to the union.
At the meeting, 14 members each from Assam and Nagaland including office bearers and one woman members each from both sides were selected.
Office bearers include-Kughalu Aye as president, Birbal Dornald as vice president, Biswa Saikia as general secretary, Mughavi Awomi as joint secretary, James Doimary as press secretary (Assam), Vikishe Awomi as press secretary (Nagaland), Ratna Karky as treasurer and Ghoito GB as the banker.
According to PCDA president, Kughalu Aye, the meeting was also attended by Arvinder Singh, commandant officer 155 Bn-CRPF Bokajan, sector commanders, and border magistrates of Assam and Nagaland respectively.
Border magistrates and commandant officer also congratulated new team of PCDA office bearers and assured to extend help towards the PCDA.
