No taxi service in Wokha on October 30
DIMAPUR: Wokha district taxi union (WDTU) has informed that there will be no taxi service to and from Wokha on October 30 on account of the union’s annual picnic-cum-election. Defaulters will be penalized under WDTU rules, stated WDTU in a press release.
ACUK workshop on October 23
KOHIMA: A one-day Workshop on ‘Status and Role of Laity in the Church’, organized by Angami Catholic Union Kohima (ACUK) will be held on October 23 at 9.30am at Mount Tabor Retreat House, Kohima with Rev.Fr. Abraham, Parish Priest, St Francis De Sales Church, Kohima Town as the resource person.
TSUD general conference
DIMAPUR: Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) 4th general conference -cum- freshers’ meet would be held on November 6 at town hall, Dimapur for which all members have been informed to wear “Tenyi Boulie” traditional waistcoat. In this connection Tenyimi Women Union Dimapur has informed all members of TSUD to purchase the waist coat available at the rate of `600 at “Clothesline” near Videographic Centre, Church Road Dimapur.
Energy conservation prog postponed
DIMAPUR: Society for protection of ecology and environment, Peren district has postponed the programme on energy conservation at Benreu tourist village to October 30. All have been requested to kindly note the change in the date.
Launching of NDS at Merhülietsa
DIMAPUR: Neighbourhood Development Scheme (NDS) for Merhülietsa colony Kohima will be launched on October 23 by NKVIB chairman and MLA Dr. Neikiesalie Kire. Meanwhile, Merhülietsa Local Board (MLB) has informed that it would also be organizing a mass social work on the same day, with KMC advisor Lhouvi Tseikha declaring the colony as “dustbin free zone”. Members of the colony have been requested to participate by gathering at Merhülietsa junction, 7.30 am for a brief programme which would be held before the social work.
Lotha gazzeted officers’ union
DIMAPUR: Lotha gazzeted officers’ union, Nagaland would to be formally established by adopting a constitution of the union and election of office bearers to the nascent union. The ceremony will be held on October 23, 10am at LTC hall, Wokha town. R.F Lotha, convener, Lotha gazzetted officers’ union in this regard, stated that no personal invitation will be dispatched except through the media. All gazetted Lotha officers from all over the state have been asked to attend the function.
STH to organize Miss Sumi 2010
DIMAPUR: Sumi Totimi hoho (STH) will be organizing Miss Sumi 2010 contest on November 12 with the theme ‘Enthralling Echoes’, in connection with Sumi Ahuna festival and state Road Show at Zunheboto starting from November 12-14. Freeland Tuensang affirms for development
TUENSANG: Freeland Tuensang on Tuesday affirming its stand to the people of eastern Nagaland and Nagas in general said the organisation purely stresses on developmental activities from the central government. In this regard, the president and member of the Freeland Tuensang, Ngaku Chang and Loyim Chang reiterated that the organisation was never a part of any faction under any circumstances and further appealed to the people not to get baffled on this issue.
ZB (AM&N) executive meet
DIMAPUR: The first central executive meeting of Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has been convened on October 27 at Loktak project Imphal, Manipur. Central executive members of the Baudi have been informed to attend the meeting.
NYKT to host national integration camp
DIMAPUR: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Tuensang would be hosting district level national integration camp (NIC) at NEZCC, Dimapur from October 23-29. B K Thandani, managing director, NSCB, would be the chief guest on October 24, 11:30 am. Around 120 campers from UP, Rajasthan, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland would be participating in the national integration camp.
KSON general conference
KOHIMA: With regard to its 25th general conference to be held in 2011, the Kuki Students’ Organization Nagaland (KSON) would be publishing a souvenir to mark the occasion. DIMAPUR: Dimapur District Congress Seva Dal (DDCSD) has convened a meeting on October 23, 10 am at district Congress committee office to deliberate on one-day national meeting of AICC to be held on November 2. ZTC to penalize shopkeepers selling expired goods
DIMAPUR: With reports of expired goods and medicine being sold in the market in Zunheboto town, chief advisor Zunheboto Town council (ZTC) Huska Yepthomi has directed all shop keepers and owners to stop selling expired goods and materials. Zunheboto town council advisor further notified that shop-keepers found selling expired goods would be penalized as per the act and trade licenses would be cancelled.
AMPWD (H) R&B &M U fees
DIMAPUR: General meeting of All Nagaland PWD (H) R&B & Mechanical regular employee union (w.e.f June 1998) (AMPWD (H) R&B &M U) in its October 5 meeting resolved to court case fees for old members and newly joined members on or before November 5. The union’s president Kesotuo Angami informed that the members in the meeting decided to open fees to all those willing to join the union service regularized after June 1, 1996.
Assam regiment re-union 2010
DIMAPUR: Zila Sainik welfare officer has informed all ex-servicemen of Assam regiment that the regiment re-union would be held on November 10-12 at Assam regimental centre, Shillong. Sumi and Chakhesang brotherhood meet
DIMAPUR: Sumi Hoho Nagaland (SHN) Zunheboto has informed that the Sumi and Chakhesang brotherhood meet would be held on October 27 at 10 am, Zunheboto. Sumi Hoho office bearers, executive members, frontal chiefs, western, eastern and northern Sumi Hoho officials and legislatures of the two brother tribes have been invited at the brotherhood meet.

DVC expels family from Diphupar village
DIMAPUR: Diphupar village council (DVC) held its emergency meeting on October 19 and resolved to expel Abdul Kalam son of Aduld Ruff and his family members from Diphupar village for indefinite period for his indecent and immoral act of attempting to rape a local minor girl on October 17. The village council has requested all other villages not to harbor or give shelter to Abdul Kalam as he may repeat the same act against innocent minors.

DIMAPUR: Naghutomi union Dimapur area (NUDA) welfare society has convened an executive meeting on October 23, 1 pm at the residence of its banker, at Chekiye village, Dimapur. All office bearers and executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.

Olympic Hr Sec School Zbto informs
DIMAPUR: The Olympic Hr Sec School Zbto will be celebrating its 25th Silver anniversary on November 4 and 5. Besides thanksgiving program, the celebration will feature existing students exhibiting their talents and skills. A special time is also being set for the alumni to share their experiences.
