Valedictory function of ‘Induction Course for Volunteers on First Aid’ under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Nagaland State Branch was held at Conference Hall, Tourist lodge, Mokokchung on October 20 with DC Mokokchung Lithrongla G. Chishi as the chief guest.
While addressing the officials and volunteers, chief guest maintained that, Red Cross Society (RCS) is a humanitarian organization committed to provide yeoman service not only during the time of calamities but in every aspect of community service.
She pointed out that an alert and well-prepared member of RCS could save lives in life threatening situations through administration of First Aid.
She also advocated the need for more committed RCS members to face the challenges and also to spread the goodwill message of RCS to the masses so as to build a strong base.
Earlier, assistant programme officer, IRCSN Lucy Merry presided over the function while M.I. Temjen, joint secretary, IRCS, Mokokchung delivered welcome address and Kholie Dolf, MC member, IRCSN proposed the vote of thanks.
The two-day training programme was attended by RCS volunteers from Tuensang, Wokha, Mon, Longleng, Zunheboto, Mokokchung district and also from Noklak unit.
