Dimapur traffic regulation

Noting regular traffic snarls suffered by commuters, the Dimapur district administration and police have decided to revert to old traffic regulations in Dimapur’s main town area with effect from October 22.
In a notification issued today, the SP Dimapur Zekotso Mero said it was decided jointly by district administration and police that movement of vehicle in Nyamo Lotha road would be allowed on both ways.
Traffic regulations w.e.f. Oct 22, 2010.
• Movement of vehicles along Nyamo road will be allowed from Deluxe point to Holy Cross point and vice-versa, and drivers should take left lane.
• Only one way flow of traffic will be allowed along Anwar Hussein road – Deluxe point intersection. Vehicles playing from Anwar Hussein road and Zakiesatuo (Eros lane) road will not be allowed to enter towards deluxe point.
• Only one-way flow of traffic will be allowed along MP road and GS road.
• Single parking of vehicles will be strictly enforced.
• All two wheelers should strictly abide by the No Entry and One Way regulations effective throughout Dimapur town.
• It is mandatory for two wheeler riders to wear helmets. Surprise checking of helmets will be conducted by police personnel and defaulters will be fined on the spot through issue of challans.
