KLCSU executive meeting
KOHIMA: An executive meeting of the Kohima law College Students’ Union (KLCSU) has been convened on October 27 at 11 am at the college. All executives have been asked to attend the meeting. A fine of Rs.200 would be imposed on absentees.
Deepawali Mela at Lions Centre
DIMAPUR: Lions and Leo club of Dimapur would be organising a Deepawali Mela on October 24 at 11am at Lions Centre, Midland. Minister for forest, environment, ecology and excise, M.C. Konyak would grace the occasion as chief guest. Lions club of Dimapur has wished all the citizens of Nagaland a Happy Deepawali.
LCC social work
DIMAPUR: Lotha Colony Council (LCC) Dimapur has requested all its colony members to participate in the social work on October 23 from 6 am onwards. The council also informed that executive meeting after the social work would be held that the residence of its chairman to discuss about the forthcoming Tokhu Emong festival.
CSUK silver jubilee
KOHIMA: Changtongya Students’ Union Kohima (CSUK) would be celebrating its silver jubilee on October 23 at 10 am at Academy Hall Kohima. In this regard, the union has invited all its members and well wishers to the celebration.
KEUU formed
DIMAPUR: A tribal body Kyong Educated Unemployed Union (KEUU) was formed on October 11 with an aim to uplift the welfare of the Kyong educated unemployed youth with six office bearers. The new union would be headed by Elithung Ovung as president and Zuthungo Kikon as general secretary. Unemployed Kyong youth from HSLC and above and below the age of 45 years have been informed to contact its president at 9436072795 and its general secretary 9615878448. Union also informed that registration for membership has been opened.
NNC Sumi region terminates 1
DIMAPUR: NNC Sumi region (Non- Accordist) vice chairman Kiheto Zhimomi has issued termination order of Kakheho/Alex with effect from October 21 for allegedly involving in anti- social activities.
SHG farmer training at Kuhuboto
Dimapur: A day women SHG farmers training on local aloevera soap making and winter vegetable cultivation was held on October 21 for BTT Kuhuboto block at KGPO hall Kuhuboto town with Rokovotsolie AFA, Alemla Therie, and Toivi Swu, AO & BTT convener as resource persons. About 80 SHG farmers from 33 villages under Kuhuboto Block attended the training. The main resource persons dwelt on the topics “Package of practices of Aloevera cultivation, demonstration on Aloevera soap making and package of practices of winter vegetables”.
RJHSS inform repeaters
DIMAPUR: Ram Janaki higher secondary school (RJHSS) has informed the regular repeater (failed candidates) of last HSSLC examination to fill up forms on or before October 30 between 11 am to 1 pm. Candidates have been requested to come along with their parents/guardian for signature on the form. For details candidates have been requested to contact the office.
PSC free coaching class for Cl-X students
DIMAPUR: Phom student conference (PSC) would be providing free coaching for Class-X students for forth coming HSLC exam 2011 from November 1 2010, PSC further informed that enrolment of intending students would start from October 25 at PSC office Hq Longleng or students may contact, 8974173709 and 9612512907.
Ad-hoc town council informs
DIMAPUR: Ad-hoc town council, East Dimapur H.Q Purana bazaar has informed all agencies of hoarding, advertisement, kiosks company etc., to appear before the office within ten days, failing which, the council said the authority would remove all the above mentioned and that it would not be held responsible.
Rev. Lanu Longchar inaugurates ‘Grace Hall’
DIMAPUR: A new prayer hall by the name ‘Grace Hall; the sanctum of prayer and worship of International Evangelistic Fellowship (IEF) dedicated and built in honour of parents Temjensoba and Imnüsangla Imchen, I.K. Changkija and P. Changkija was formally inaugurated by president of IEF Rev. Lanu Longchar at Arkong ward Mokokchung on October 21. ‘Grace Hall’ was donated to IEF by Mr.& Mrs. Jemti Mollier.
DDBV to celebrate “Kathin Chibor Dan”
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Dhamma Bodhi Vihar (DDBV) will celebrate ‘Kathin Chibor Dan’ under the banner of “Society of Dhamma Bodhi & Meditation” at Kevija-u village, Signal Bosti Dimapur on October 24 at the premises of society of dhamma bodhi & meditation, Dimapur. Well-wishers and devotees have been invited to the festival.
ERO informs BLOs
DIMAPUR: Electoral registration officer (ERO) Dimapur, Sedevikho Khro has informed all booth level officers (BLOs) of Dimapur district who have been appointed and assigned within Dimapur town and Sadar to attend training/briefing for BLOs on October 28 at 11 am in DC’s conference hall Dimapur. BLOs for the outpost administrative jurisdiction have been directed to attend the said training/briefing at their concern administrative officers/supervisory officer’s office on October 29 without fail.
“Yellow unvisited” field trip
DIMAPUR: Final year students along with student in-charge John Lotha of Mt. Tiyi College Wokha went on a field study to Doyang river dam and Chubi Bridge. The trip was sponsored by youth resource department Wokha under the guidance of resource officer K. Libemo Jamio.
ASI, INT passes away
DIMAPUR: ASI of Nagaland Police (INT) serving in PHQ, K. Dili expired on October 22 at around 4:45pm in Naga Hospital, Kohima after a brief illness. His funeral service will be held on October 23 (Saturday) at 1pm at his residence in Midlane, Kohima.
NCSU handing and taking over programme
DIMAPUR: The handing and taking over of president of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (NCSU) would be held on October 25, 11 am at its office chamber. All seniors, tribunals and executives of NCSU have been requested to attend the programme.
‘Users’ Collective’ meet
DIMAPUR: A general meeting of ‘Users’ Collective’ has been convened on October 24, 12.30 noon at town hall, Dimapur. Those volunteering as colony representatives have been requested to kindly arrange the participation of fellow members from their respective areas.
Seminar on global warming and social unity
DIMAPUR: Under the aegis of Phek Collegiate Forum (PCF) a one day seminar on “Global warming and social unity” would be held on November 2, 9 am at Phek Village Community Hall. Minister for health and family welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will dwell on “Global Warming” in the first session while principal, Capital Collage for Higher Education (CCHE) Kohima Vezuhu Keyho will speak on “Social unity” as resource person. A framed up resolution will also be brought up by the resolution committee to obtain house approval for follow up actions. The forum has informed its members and frontal organizations of all the five villages including Phekmi Welfare Union, Kohima, Dimapur and Phek Town to send at least two representatives to attend the seminar.
NSAMB conducts entrepreneurship training
DIMAPUR: Nagaland state agricultural marketing board (NSAMB) conducted entrepreneurship training on processing of agricultural and horticulture produces at its Agronag centre, 4th mile Dimapur from October 7-13. Training was conducted by local resource persons as well as from Guwahati to 142 trainees on potato chips and bamboo shoots processing units, citrus and pomegranate, pineapple, and passion fruits juice extraction units. NSAMB secretary C. Mozhui has informed that further trainings on noodles, pop corn, and ginger paste processing units from October 26 to 28; and 2nd phase potato chips processing from October 2 to 3 will be conducted. Applicants have been informed to attend the training from 9 am onwards.
Road Show cum Tokhu Emong
DIMAPUR: Detailed programme of State Road Show cum Tokhu Emong was finalised at a meeting on October 20 with Yanshathung Jami, president Kyong Hoho as Chairman at DC’s Conference Hall Wokha. According to an official bulletin, detailed programme was chalked out after suggestions from various committees were scrutinized. The programme is slated to be a three day event starting November 5. Competition of various categories would be held on November 5 and the main Road Show on November 6. Cultural Extravaganza and Tokhu Emong festival and Tokhu Emong fest would be held on November 7.
Konyak music video album
DIMAPUR: A new DVD Music video album titled “Monglu Üngvüng” in Konyak dialect, sung by various artists was released by Pangteang Konyak Advisor DUDA on October 21 in the presence of the producer Bangshing and friends. Pangteang Konyak during the launch was delighted to learn that Naga youth are taking up music passionately and encouraged them to use such God given talent to bring joy to the hearts of the listeners. He also congratulated the artists and the producer for coming up with such an album and wished them best in their future endeavor.
Mon DPDB meeting held
DIMAPUR: Mon district planning and development board meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC, Mon Dinesh Kumar IAS on October 20. The board during the meet recommended opening of new government primary school at Thamnan ward, Mon town and approved the logo and theme of the officers club, Mon. The chairman also reiterated on submitting the quarterly progress report of the development departments for onward submission to the government for necessary action. E.E. irrigation and flood control, Mon and E.E (PWD) Naginimora presented the developmental activities to the house. In connection to the report of the EE (PWD), Naginimora, the chairman directed ADC, Naginimora and SDO civil, Wakching to give a feedback in the next DPDB meeting. E.E (PWD), Aboi and CMO, Mon would present departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
