Training for 3rd batch on RTI Act 2005 for the year 2010-2011 was conducted from October 20 to 22 at ATI, Kohima. Altogether 34 officers from 14 departments attended the training.
In a short valedictory function chaired by course coordinator Dr. Hovithal Sothu, state coordinator, DMC, director of ATI, V. Shashank Shekhar (IAS) exhorted the trainees and gave away the participatory certificates.
Dr. Hovithal Sothu stressed on the importance of RTI and encouraged the participants to give more voluntary disclosures.
While stating RTI Act was accepted well by the system and hence this Act should be put to full use, he also added that RTI Act came into effect after many years of effort by several individuals and organizations.
He further expressed that since a government is “of the people, by the people and for the people” RTI would be a useful method for improving the system.
He also mentioned the public hearing conducted by YouthNet in Kohima for Naga Hospital Authority increased public awareness.
Open invitation was also given to all officers to attend other trainings conducted at ATI by the director.
Botovi Sema from land resources and Er. N. Khoto Zetsuvi, AME, PWD (Mechanical) department spoke on behalf of participants.
