Chuba stresses on modern education

MLA 53 A/C Tuensang Sadar 1, P. Chuba Chang on Friday highlighted the students on 'Modern educational activities' in order to compete with the rest of the state.
Speaking on the occasion as special guest at the prize distribution of the essay competition held on the topic 'Historic achievement of the Indian National Congress during 125 years' here at GHSS Auditorium Tuensang, P. Chuba said the Congress party was keen on encouraging upcoming young talented students in the district as well as in the state and country.
He also urged the students to focus seriously in their educational academic field and to bring laurel to the society.
Quoting from the Bible, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" he advised the students to respect their teachers, parents, and to remove 'backwardness from the society'.
While urging the teachers to mold their students in an appropriate manner, he also lauded the medical department for showing concern and imparting to the people on the role and its importance of iodine deficiency.
He further congratulated the winners and participants of the essay competition from various institutions.
Longpokenep Chang BA 11 of Sao Chang Government College bagged the first position while Tialia Sangtam 11 of GHSS won the second position with a cash prize of `10,000 and `5,000 respectively.
Dr. Thungho, deputy CMO Tuensang also spoke on the topic 'Iodine deficiency' where the prizes of the competition on iodine deficiency were also given away at the programme.
Prize distribution programme of the essay competition on the topic 'Historic achievement of the Indian national congress during 125 years' was jointly organized by District Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI), Tuensang.
Earlier, the programme was led by L. Shillem president DYC Tuensang while invocation was pronounced by Chongshen Chang G/T GHSS.
Introduction and welcome address was delivered by Keka president NSUI, Dr. Santosh Lecturer Sao Chang Government College, D. Panda principal GHSS and N. Mosha Chang president DCC Tuensang also spoke at the programme.
