14 NDFB militants apprehended

In a major crackdown against militants, fourteen cadres of NDFB were apprehended from Tizit (Mon) and Dimapur respectively within the past two days. SDPO Tizit Chuba speaking to Nagaland Post over phone said, ten newly recruited NDFB cadres were arrested from Tizit police check gate while they were on the way to Mon on the wee hours of October 22. He also further disclosed that the arrest have been made based on a tip off. A case has been registered and the cadres have been forwarded to judicial custody, the SDPO also added. In Dimapur, another four NDFB cadres were arrested on October 23 morning; however official confirmation from police was yet to be received till the time of filing this report. Meanwhile, sources added that all the 14 arrested cadres may have used Dimapur as the transit point and from where the ten recruits may have possibly left for Mon enroute to Myanmar for training. It may also be noted that some NDFB cadres who were recently arrested from Guwahati, confessed that they have been using Dimapur as their source destination to carry out all sort of extortions related activity in Guwahati and various parts of Assam.
