A regional level consultation programme on National social security (NSS) schemes was organized by regional cooperation for people’s empowerment on October 20 and 21 at DUDA guest house Kohima. The programme was conducted to improve delivery system of NSS scheme to the poor. Main features of the programme included experimental sharing, sharing of plight of targeted families, roles and challenges of civil societies and strategies to tackle the issue.
Rev. Dr. Pongsing Konyak, state information commissioner, who spoke as the resource person, encouraged the participants to spread awareness and educate the rural masses on NSS scheme He further encouraged them to initiate social audit process using RTI Act.
