Viswema VDB building inaugurated

: Viswema VDB building was inaugurated on Saturday by commissioner and secretary, RD, V Sakhrie, at SDO civil block Jakhama.
The three storey building of `50 lakh project started during 2004-05 was built under the grant-in- aid fund of rural development department for the purpose of generating income.
Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, V. Sakhrie said development was for mass profit and the people should encourage each other towards a better and sustainable life. While sharing on life values, he cautioned that unless people realize and maintain the importance of self discipline, patriotism and honesty, he said “One day we may lose our stand in the society”. He also thanked Jakhama village for allowing the Viswema people to build a community building and also the administration for their support.
Joint secretary, Kelei Zeliang stressed on the need to create more community durable assets. He shared that real financial authority rests with the villages and encouraged them to aim for bigger projects.
Congratulating the villagers for their achievement, project director DRDA Kohima said for a village to prosper, a lot depended on good leadership. He lauded VDB, village council, youth and women for their joint effort and team work in bringing about the project to reality.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Vizosul Vitsu, VVC Secretary, and invocation by Rev. Hosato Kiso and report by VDB secretary, Neihovi Toso.
