GBs and DBs Joint Forum working committee, Kiphire district Thursday served a 15-day ultimatum to FGN/NNC demanding assessment of the activities of one FGN “kilo affairs” deputy secretary T.V. Litsaba and deliver appropriate action.
Signed jointly by forum convener head GB Yangkimong and co-convener head DB Lirimong, the ultimatum said that T.V. Litsaba’s performance and conduct as a “national worker” needed to be observed seriously.
While stating that Litsaba previously served as GBs association Kiphire district secretary and also as Nagaland GB federation joint secretary, forum alleged that cases of misuse of office funds occurred during his tenure. It also stated that he had joined FGN/NNC without tendering his resignation or informing the association, which the forum said, greatly hurt the image and sentiments of GBs of the district. Upon joining the FGN, the joint forum said that Litsaba began to collect Rs.200 per head from all non-local residents of Kiphire town, and continued the collection even after the forum issued a restraining order to him on the matter.
Meanwhile, forum said the ultimatum was also being issued in connection with an incident where Litsaba allegedly threatened the life of DPO (DRDA) Kiphire Setsathong on September 13 “without any relevant reason”. The joint forum court purportedly summoned him and imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 with regard to the case, however, Litsaba defied the court judgment order and “disappeared” from Kiphire town without signing the order. The ultimatum demanded that the FGN/NNC take appropriate action on T.V. Litsaba and subsequently release his termination order within 15 days from the date of issue of the ultimatum, failing which, the entire Kiphire district would stop co-operating with the FGN/NNC in the form of withdrawing all sorts of taxation towards FGN, the joint forum cautioned.
It may be mentioned that Langkok village council on September 21 said it had resolved not to cooperate with FGN and they would stop paying taxes, in connection with Litsaba’s threat on DPO Setsathong.
