Youth trained under CRPF civic action programme

A total of ten women completed tailoring and stitching course while another fifteen men were imparted training on bamboo crafts under civic action programme of CRPF. The concluding ceremony for the trainees was held at 173 CRPF Bn headquarter on Friday with Nagaland Post Editor Geoffrey Yaden as chief guest.
Lauding the efforts of the Battalion for carrying out the programme, the chief guest termed it as a fight against poverty and lack of employment avenues. He also stated that development would have no meaning if the people cannot have decent living standards. Maintaining that programme was one of the dynamic positive actions of the force, Yaden opined that civic action programme could be a solution for insurgency and not guns.
The chief guest called upon participants not to depend only on government but wok with utmost diligence and hard work. He also expressed hope that 173 CRPF Bn would expand their programme and bring about positive changes in the lives of people.
CO of battalion Anupam Sharma and bamboo crafts trainer Zuben Lotha, a national level awardee, also gave a brief speech at the programme. Joint Director of NEZCC Tali Nokcha also attended the function.
The 25 participants were also provided with machineries and daily allowances during the training period by the battalion.
