Abducted electrician killed in Manipur

The body of an electrician who was abducted by miscreants from Tamenglong district, Manipur on September 28 was found today in an abandoned place with clothes stripped off, police said.
The electrician was engaged in the electrification work at quarters of a Tamenglong Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya at Dugailong village identified as Takhelmayum Surchandra (49) son of Ibotombi of Soibam Leikai, Imphal. Meanwhile, two overground members of RPF/PLA, allegedly involved in attacks on the life of Non-Manipuri in the state, were nabbed by police on Sunday.
Kharibam Amarjit @ Nanao (24), Sagolband Meino Leirak and Meisnam Gojendro @ Tomcha of Sagolband Meino Leirak were nabbed by a team of Imphal west police led by SDPO, police said. In another unrelated incident, troops of 11 AR at Khongsang post in Tamenglong apprehended one cadre of NSCN (I-M) identified as James Thomas (30) last night from a hotel in the village. He was later handed over to Imphal police station. Another underground activist was also nabbed by troops of 23 AR at Sagolmang post in Imphal east Sunday. The activist belonging to PREPAK outfit was identified as Wangkheirakpam Naubi Meetei (25).
