In continuance of ‘Hindi Day’, ARTC & S celebrated Hindi Pakhwara (Fortnight) with from September 14 to 28.
In order to promote Hindi amongst the jawans belonging to non-Hindi speaking regions, eight types of Hindi competitions namely Hindi typing, noting-drafting, dictation, hand writing, essay competition, song, poem recitation and lectures were organised at Sukhovi.
To enhance the usage of Hindi and its promotion by various battalions an ‘overall championship trophy’ was also introduced for the first time besides individual prizes of I, II & III places. Prize distribution ceremony was held on September 25 under the chairmanship of Colonel K K Arun, SM, officiating commandant of ARTC & S.
Team of no. 1 (Lakhimpur) training battalion secured the highest points and was adjudged the best team, while team of no. 2 training battalion, Composite Coy and No. 3 training battalion were placed second, third and fourth respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the chairman stressed on the use of Hindi in official correspondence in accordance with the policy issued by the government of India.
He also highlighted the importance of the official language and appealed all personnel to work in Hindi and contribute in spreading the official language across the country.
