A five-day workshop on creative activities was organized by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) in collaboration with Centre for Cultural Research and Training (CCRT), New Delhi from September 26 to 30 at NEZCC Complex and Deaf Biblical Ministry, Naharbari coinciding with the “Day of Deaf”. The workshop was attended by 235 students from Unity Christian Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, Eklavya Model Residential School, Diphupar, Hornbill School, Chekiye, Vision Home Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, Eastern Academy School, Diphupar, Government High School, Singrijan, Sainik School, Punglwa and Deaf Biblical Ministry, Naharbari.
The students were trained on clay molding, book binding, puppetry, songs in national languages, flower making and macramme. Children were trained under the experts from CCRT viz; Jyoti Saxena, field officer, Atul Jaitley, Dilip Mandal, Barnali Das, Biju Das, Hemlata Das, Hemant Raut, Dara Singh, Ajoy Pholia, Rini Monki and Kamala Das. The valedictory function on September 30 was held at NEZCC office with Asono Ndang, district education officer, Dimapur as chief guest.
Talinokcha, director-in-charge, NEZCC stated the objective of workshop on creative activities and extended appreciation to CCRT for organizing the workshop for school children while vote of thanks was proposed by V. Phesao, exhibition officer, NEZCC incharge of the programme.
