CSUK emergency meeting
KOHIMA: Chakhesang Students’ Union Kohima (CSUK) has called for an emergency union assembly meeting on October 6 at 11 am at LCS building. All units/colleges have been asked to send two representatives to the meeting positively. The union also urged senior leaders and citizens to attend the meeting.
PWB informs public
KOHIMA: Peraciezie Welfare Board (PWB) has informed the general public that organizing ‘sale’s day’ or selling of any type of goods by any organization or individual should be done after prior permission from the welfare board.
CTC informs TPDS card holders
DIMAPUR: The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) informed all the beneficiaries under TDPS that rice will be distributed from 7 am – 10 am at Groovy varieties shop near Mount Mary Higher Secondary School Chumukedima. All card holders have been informed to collect their share before October 8. The council also further informed all the GBs of 11 wards to inform the card holders about the distribution.
LPG safety clinic
DIMAPUR: Hangba gas agency, Tuensang conducted LPG safety clinic on September 22 organized by Sangmei Hangba Chang, proprietor/distributor of Hangba gas agency at circuit house. The resource persons were S Sharma, assistant manager (sales) and R Sharma, assistant manager (retail) Indian oil corporation LTD Dimapur. Around 50 (fifty) LPG customers from various sectors of Tuensang town attended the programme.
PAMSU informs
DIMAPUR: Pensioners association Medziphema sub-unit (PAMSU) has informed all pensioners and family pensioners (state/CCS) drawing pension from SBI Medziphema to fill the life certificate from PAMSU office by October 31 for submission to the pension disbursing authority. PAMSU further informed that pensioners who do not submit life certificate pension payment would be stopped for drawing their pension from the month of November.
NDLRSTSA emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland directorate land records and survey technical staff association (NDLRSTSA) has convened an emergency meeting on October 8, 10:30 am at survey training institute complex, Purana bazaar, Dimapur. All grade-1 staff and district office executive members under directorate of land records and survey have been requested to attend the meeting.
NSAMB directors’ board meeting
DIMAPUR: The 3rd meeting of Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB) board of directors has been convened on October 7, 11 am at Hotel Japfü Kohima. All members of the board have been requested to attend the meeting.
Workshop for senior bank officials
DIMAPUR: A state level workshop for senior bank officials on credit-linked subsidy schemes of government of India for development of animal husbandry sector would be held on October 8, 10 am at Conference Room, Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre (NBRC), 6th Mile, Dimapur, Nagaland.
Wokha zone NEFWA 2nd general session
DIMAPUR: The 2nd general session of Nagaland electricity field worker association (NEFWA) Wokha zone would be held on October 8, 10 am at LTC hall Wokha to discuss orientation of revenue under Wokha district, adoption of resolution and work charge staff problem. All meter reader and B/A staff have been requested to attend the meeting.
AKM caution against anomalies
DIMAPUR: Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) while acknowledging the peaceful conduct of LDA cum-computer assistant exam in Mokokchung district also cautioned that the selection process should be free from favoritism, nepotism or such kind of malpractices from any groups or individuals. In regard of the examination conducted, AKM demanded that ‘Cut off’ marks as well as the marks secured by each applicant in order of merit should be published in all local dailies.
PHU on job reservation
DIMAPUR: With regard to the recently concluded recruitment exam for the post of LDA and computer assistants in various departments in the state, physical handicapped union (PHU) Nagaland has expressed gratitude to government of Nagaland for adopting 3% reservation for persons with disabilities. PHU expressed hope that the reservation policy would be formulated in letter. PHU president Heshiho T. Yepthomi in a statement further appealed to the responsible authorities and heads of departments to maintain transparency and accountability in the selection process of candidates with disabilities.
LCD free eye screening camp concludes
DIMAPUR: A two-day 1st eye screening camp for “Lionistic Year” 2010-11 organized by Lions Club of Dimapur (LCD) in association with Jorhat Lions Eye Hospital (JLEH) concluded on October 3 at Lions Health Centre Dimapur. The club has informed that a total of 475 patients were checked and free medicines were distributed, while 115 patients have been referred for IOL surgery for which they would be referred to JLEH Jorhat in batches of 20-30 patients. According to LCD president Pawan Maheshwari, LCD would be spending more than `1.5 lacs on the project. Meanwhile, the club has expressed appreciation to JLEH team led by Dr. P. Bhagwati, Lions members and SP Dimapur Z. Mero for their contributions and services towards the camp.
