Newly elected NPCC office bearers have expressed gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi for the successful conduct of PCC election October 6.
Newly elected NPCC members, at their meeting Thursday at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, adopted a one line resolution , which lauded AICC chief for deputing “competent team” to conduct PCC election in Nagaland, said NPCC president S.I Jamir in a press statement.
“The newly elected president and his team of newly elected vice presidents and treasurer extended profound gratitude to AICC president Sonia Gandhi for deputing a competent team to conduct the PCC election in Nagaland successfully October 6 despite serious attempts been made by the elements from within and outside the party to disrupt the lection process again,” stated S.I.Jamir.
NPCC election October 6 took an ugly turn when electioneering process was preceded by miscreants setting fire on the Congress Bhavan and damaging doors and windows during the wee hours followed by indiscriminate firing while the election process was in full swing resulting in the injury of one person.
NPYC condemns arson attack
Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC)issued a belated condemnation over the arson attack on its office – Congress Bhavan, Kohima – by what was described as “miscreants” in the wee hours of October 6, resulting in obliteration of the office premises.
Describing the act as “uncivilized and unrefined”, the NPYC president Kuputo Shohe, stated that the NPYC “never expected such things to occur”. The NPYC cautioned that it would not remain as a silent spectator and extend “ full cooperation” to “ nab the miscreants”.
The NPYC also felicitated new NPCC chief S.I Jamir and all the vice presidents and treasurer on their election to new posts. Shohe in particular expressed “gratitude to outgoing NPCC president I.Imkong for his tireless effort during his presidentship”.
