Governor visits Jotsoma road bypass area

Nagaland governor Nikhil Kumar, who visited Jotsoma landslide area on National Highway-39 Friday, expressed the hope that the road would be restored soon to ease hardship to commuters.
The governor reviewed the progress of works being undertaken by the Border Road Organisation (BRO) to restore the damaged road due to sinking/sliding of hills at KMC dumping area in length of about 400 meters.
Project Sewak chief engineer Brig Balraj Singh briefed the Governor on the works undertaken by the BRO. Brig Balraj also appraised the governor on causes and extent of damages in the area including various works being undertaken to restore the highway and quantum of works executed till date.
The 15 BRTF commander and officer commanding the RCC in-charge of the works were also present, stated a BRO release.
Governor Nikhil Kumar also interacted with personnel of BRO and complimented on the works done by them. He also inquired into the problems being faced by them and was appreciative of their efforts, the release stated.
It maybe mentioned that the KMC dumping area road has been completely damaged by landslides for almost over a month, for this Jotsoma by-pass road has been extensively used. Restoration works for both Jotsoma by-pass and KMC dumping area road are on full swing.
