300 students awarded in Guwahati

An award for academic excellence organized by HWF Assam State Branch at Rabindra Bhawan was held at Guwahati Sunday.
About 300 outstanding students from CBSE, SEBA, and Madrassa Board who cleared their High School level examination were felicitated at the function.
Prof K.A. Siddique Hassan, General Secretary HWF, while speaking on the occasion said, “Vision 2016 is a noble venture of Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) for socio economic educational development of the country where special attention has been given to education, health, poverty alleviation and legal support to the backward and minority communities”.
He further appealed for active effort, help and co-operation from all citizens to achieve the vision 2016.
Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury, General SecretaryAIDUF, A. H. Khandakar, Under Secretary, Department of Health, and Dr Rama Nanda Das, former Registrar, Gauhati University were among dignitaries present on the occasion.
Two philanthropists, T. Ahmed and E. Mohammed Soopy, both from Kerala also donated Rs 1crore and Rs. 50 lakh.
