Multidisciplinary trg at Seithekema village
DIMAPUR: One day multidisciplinary training programme was conducted by KVK Dimapur on October 30 at Seithekema village. The programme began with a topic on nursery raising for winter vegetable by H.D. Singh (SMS, Horticulture). He explained the scientific nursery management techniques for cole crops. Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie, (SMS Animal Science) discussed on awareness on swine flue: clinical signs, its prevention and control. Proper package and practices, good soil health along with nutrient management for better yield of mustard and maize was also dicussed by James Kikon (SMS Soil Science). Saurabh Sarma (Programme Assistant, Plant Protection) emphasized on the awareness on insecticides application. Saurabh Sarma educated the farmers on safe use of insecticides and pesticides and precautions to be taken during/after its application. Altogether 30 participants (including 3 SHG and 1 farmers club) attended the training programme. Seeds like cabbage, broccoli, mustard and winter maize were distributed by KVK officials to the farmers.
AR gifts library, counselling centre
DIMAPUR: The 24 Assam Rifles under 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (N) constructed a library cum counseling centre under military civic action project for the youth and children of Nihokhu village under Niuland sub division, Dimapur on October 31. According to a defence release, the centre was inaugurated by second-in-comd, 24 AR in a ceremony which was attended by more than 100 villagers, students, Nihokhu village council chairman, GBs and village elders.
SSUPCC annual programme held
DIMAPUR: Sumi Students’ Union Public College of Commerce (SSUPCC) Dimapur held its 15th annual session-cum-fresher’s meet on October 30 at Noune Resort, Old Showuba. The union also appreciated members of WSSU, SKK, KGSU and HASSU for attending the programme.
GMS Kolomi annual picnic
KOHIMA: Government Middle School Kolomi ( Mudutsugho) under Pughoboto sub division Zunheboto district held its annual picnic 2010 on October 23 at the school campus. In the annual picnic, Hoqhevi, inspector post commander Kilomi C/Company III BN BSF and Vighoto L/ NAIK exhorted the students to work hard in their studies stating the future belongs to them. A special prayer was conducted by Helen Swu, woman pastor, especially for the VIII students. The chairman village education committee (VEC) Daniel Wotsa and village elders accompanied the teaching staff.
Peren admn destroy seized wildlife products
DIMAPUR: Though hunting has been banned in Peren district, patrol team of forest, administration, police and town council seized 42 birds mostly migratory and some local species on Tuesday. The seized material was later burned in the presence of DC and SP, officials and NGO’s. Officials present were DC Peren, Khrienuo C. Metha, SP Peren Iherie Ndang, DFO Peren, Samuel Changkija, CMO Peren, Dr. L Kuotso, other officers of district administration, Town Council Jalukie town, Jalukie Town Women Organisation, Jalukie Town Youth Organisation, Zeliangrong Students Union, and other staff and public.
Notice on publication of electoral roll draft
DIMAPUR: Electors of 16 Pfutsero A/C, 17 Chizami A/C, 18 Chazuba A/C, 19 Phek A/C and Meluri A/C of under Phek district have been informed that electoral roll has been prepared in accordance with the registration of electors rules, 1960 and a copy thereof was available for inspection at the DC office, Phek and the office of the ADC Pfutsero/SDO (C) Chizami/ADC Chazuba/ADC Meluri during office hours. The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll January is 1, 2011. ADC and ERO Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe in an official bulletin informed that claims for the inclusion of name in the roll or any objection at the inclusion or any objection to particulars in any entry should be lodged on or before the November 23 in form 6, 7, 8 or 8A as may be appropriate. Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the DC Office or to the concerned Booth level Officers (BLOs) during office hours or sent by post to the address before so as to reach the office not later that the stipulated date, ADC added.
Veterinary camp at Medziphima
DIMAPUR: The 20 Assam Rifles under Hq 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (N) with the assistance from 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital (MFVH), Rangapahar organized a veterinary camp at Medziphima town council ground on October 25. According to a defence release, the camp was inaugurated by commandant, 20 Assam Rifles in presence of Lt Col S S Balaji, Doungel, additional deputy commissioner, Ming Shintin, principal of VFATI and members of Medziphima town council.The camp integrated government institutions in the sub-division viz. government veterinary hospital, ICAR, Mithun Research Centre, NU (SASRD) and troops of 14 IRB. A total of 24 villages participated in the camp wherein treatment was provided to approximately 750 cattle, birds and other pets.
Work educational competition program
DIMAPUR: District project coordinator has informed all government middle schools under Dimapur district that ‘work educational competition programme’ would be held on November 6, 10 am at government higher secondary auditorium hall. The participants have been requested to reach the venue at 8am.
YAN executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Youth association of Nagaland has convened an emergency executive meeting on November 6, 10 am at YAN headquarter office Dimapur near hotel Saramati, Naga shopping arcade. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.

DIMAPUR: T. Khel Kuda union has convened a meeting on November 6, 3:30 pm at its president’s residence, 3rd mile Darogapathar.
DRFCB meeting
DIMAPUR: Dhansiri river flood control board (DRFCB) has convened a meeting on November 6, 10 am at its office, marketing complex, Purana bazaar, East Dimapur.
‘Tokhvu Emong’ at Bor Lengri
DIMAPUR: Kyong community of Bor Lengri and Karbi Anglong would be organizing ‘Tokhvu Emong’ on November 7, 12:30pm at Bor Lengri local ground. T. L. Merry, vice president, NPF Nagaland would consent as the chief guest.
OSUK general conference
KOHIMA: Ongpangkong Students’ Union (OSU) would be organising a general conference on November 6 at 10am at Academy Hall, Kohima with Waichiba Longkumer, additional director of rural development as chief guest and Dr. P. Kilemsungla as the speaker.
Test for VFA training course
DIMAPUR: Entrance test for veterinary field assistant (VFA) training has been re-scheduled on November 14 at Medzhipema town. Informing this in a press release, principal of VFA training institute Medziphema Dr. Myingthungo Shitiri has asked candidates to submit application forms on November 10 and admit card would be issued on November 12. Exam would be conducted from 10 am to 12noon.
Chakhesang region get together
DIMAPUR: Shenta Kilonser FGN, T. S. Keyho has informed that a good-will get together will be held at Yoruba on November 6. All Naga national workers of NNC/FGN/NSCN/GPRN of Chakhesang region have been requested to attend the function.
ACD general meeting
DIMAPUR: Aichisaghemi Community Dimapur (ACD) has convened general meeting on November 6 at 8am at the residence of its banker at Purana bazaar. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
KNO ‘Tokhu’ night
DIMAPUR: Kyong Nchumchio Okhio (KNO) Dimapur will be presenting Tokhu night on November at 5 pm at state stadium Dimapur. All have been requested to attend the event.
New SHG formed in Niuland
DIMAPUR: General body meeting of all SHGs under R.D Block, Niuland was held on November 2 at town hall, Niuland. Resource persons were BDO, R.D Block Niuland Kashiho Sangtam and president, Dhansiripar SHG federation Sonnie Kath. The meeting was attended by 43 villages and 55 SHGs where a federation called “SHG federation, R.D block, Niuland” was formed.
ENSUD presidential meeting
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Dimapur (ENSUD) has convened an emergency presidential meeting on November 6, 2 p.m. at its treasurer’s residence. All unit presidents and ENSUD officials have been requested to attend the meeting.
AHoDs, HoDs meeting
DIMAPUR: A meeting of all administrative heads of departments and heads of departments has been convened on November 10, 2 pm at secretariat conference hall Kohima. In this connection chief secretary has informed all AHoDs and HoDs to attend the meeting. According to an official bulletin, agendas to be discussed at the meeting include, arrangement for Republic Day 2011, Kohima town cleanliness drive- work allocation to various departments, to review of progress of implementation of annual plan 2010-11, speedy disposal of pension cases, follow-up action on chief secretary’s conference at New Delhi, policy on UIDAI/NPR data base and Agri Expo 2010.
AGOK annual conference 2010
DIMAPUR: The 27th session of Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) would be held on November 13 at St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Viswema to be hosted by Viswema Gazetted Officers’ Krotho. Nagaland Chief Secretary, Lalthara IAS would grace the annual conference as the chief guest and President Naga Council, Dimapur, Savi Liegise and executive director ABCC, Rev. Keviyiekelie Linyü as resource persons.
