Reiterating the agenda of Kohima DPDB to launch a programme on “Bach to the Roots” and to form “village vision cell”, Kohima deputy commissioner, Beiu-U Angami said the objective of the new concept is to analyze the potentials, prospects and strength of the village and to find ways to improve avenues and suggest remedial measures for all round development.
DC in a circular said village council may identify members such as retired officer, gazetted officers, and elected members, prominent contractors, businessmen and professionals.
VVC are to plan their models as per availability of resources, and models submitted to sub-committee which would be short listed by DPDB, added DC.
He also informed that the board would extend assistance whether through respective members representing the respective assembly constituencies or departmental heads to accommodate the most feasible projects.
Further he added that the board had finalized and approved the yearlong programme and all recognized village council in Kohima have been directed to complete the constitution of the village vision cell in each village by involving relevant person and formulate the models latest by the end of November.
VCC once constituted would function as a consultative, non-statutory and non- political cell under the authority of the village council, added DC.
