GPS Porterlane gets additional class room

Government primary school (GPS) Dziiviirii (Porterlane), Kohima additional class room was formally inaugurated on Wednesday by Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA, Chairman NKVIB and adviser MTF as chief guest at the school premises
Addressing the gathering Dr. Nicky Kire lauded Ward Education Committee, teachers, Porterlane Panchayat and general public of Porterlane for their support and co-operation in uplifting the school to progress well.
Stating that participation of the community led to living to the literal meaning of communitization, Dr. Nicky expressed hope that community participation would continue to ensure that the school runs smoothly.
He also urged teacher to give their best while teaching the students and look after them as their own children, at the same time, called upon the parents to play an equal role in looking after their children.
Earlier, he unveiled the inauguration plaque.
Also speaking at the inaugural programme, state vigilance commission, secretary Angau Thou congratulated WEC, panchayat and teachers for their honesty in the construction of the new additional roomsof GPS Porterlane.
Giving a brief report of GPS, WEC secretary and head teacher Kikruniii said the school was established in 1964 and at present has 260 students with 12 teachers.
Earlier, the function was chaired by Shiirhovol Naleo, chairman, WEC, invocation prayer by Tepusaho Tase, pastor, MHBC, special number by students and vote of thanks by Rokohol Kechii, chairman Dziiviirii (Porterlane), Panchayat, member WEC.
