Seeking the intervention of FPS licensing and approval authority, the Consumer Society Dimapur District on Sunday has listed some of the “confused fair price shops” in Dimapur sadar at various locations.
FPS listed by CSDD includes- M/s Loyang at Nepali Bosti; M/s Jacob Achumi at Kevijau colony; M/s Benjamin at Lengirijan and M/s Yanger at D Colony Nagarjan.
A joint press statement of CSDD made available, by its president, T. Hetoyi Yeptho and press secretary, Pradip Sethi in their remarks to the four FBS stated that it suspected the existence of bogus ration cards as well as FPS units in functioning of PDS, thereby leading to many undesirable features for diversion of subsidized food grains to the open market with other corrupt practices.
The CSDD also pointed out that M/s Yanger FPS got license for operating from D. Colony Nagarjan, but was operating from Ura village colony.
With regard to this, the CSDD urged the department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection Kohima for early reconstruction of District Consumer Forum Members in view of the complaints received from the consumers and the cases lying unsolved for the last one and half year.
