Mushroom development centre at Wokha

Parliamentary Secretary for Horticulture, R.Khing on Saturday inaugurated mushroom cultivation centre at farm colony at Wokha town. R. Khing said introduction of mushroom development centre in the district was a big achievement and urged the farmers to use the centre for the benefit of the people to boost the economy of the district.
According to an official bulletin, minister for agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry who also spoke on the occasion said the only source of economic development was farming; for which he called upon farmers to commercialize farming products.
Chumben also assured that fencing problem of the project area would be looked into immediately.
Earlier, the chief guest unveiled the plaque of mushroom development centre.
Commissioner secretary for horticulture, Sentiyanger IAS, director horticulture, Joseph Humtsoe, representatives from district administration and other host of government officials attended the inaugural function. District horticulture officer Wokha, Dr. Elithung informed that two more projects were in pipeline and would be inaugurated soon at Ralan and Ronsuyan, namely lemongrass distillation unit and Cashewnut processing unit.
