Tripartite talks with Kuki ultras on November 10

The next round of tripartite talks with the Kuki militants to discuss on certain agendas will be held on Wednesday (November 10) in Imphal, official source said Sunday.
Joint secretary (North East), Naveen Verma will represent the Centre in the talks which will be chaired by the Manipur chief secretary, DS Poonia. The meeting will be held at the Banquet hall of the 1st Manipur Rifles.
GOC of 57 Mountain Division DS Hooda, IGAR (S) CA Krishnan, IG CRPF (Manipur & Nagaland), DIG of BSF and IG (Int) of Manipur Police LM Khote will also attend the talks. Separate rounds of meetings will be held with the UPF (United People Front) and KNO (Kuki National Organisation). The first round will begin from 10 am, the official source added.
Among others, the meetings will review the progress of construction of designation camps, deposition of arms and ammunitions, etc. From the state government side, cases registered by the police regarding violation of ground rules by the cadres of signatory outfits will be tabled, the source said.
Earlier, Manipur chief secretary DS Poonia said that political dialogue with the Kuki militant groups under the tripartite agreement on Suspension of Operations (SoO) will be held soon.
The dialogue with the 18 Kuki militant outfits, signatories to the tripartite SoO agreement with the Central and state government will be initiated at the earliest, he had said. The terms and conditions of the dialogue will be chalked out in the tripartite talks scheduled on Nov 10.
