Pungro Area College Students’ Union (PACSU) has condemned the October 31 incident where some GPRN/NSCN cadres were apprehended along with arms by NSCN (IM) at Chomi village.
The union said that the act of NSCN (IM) was in violation of ENPO resolution and termed it as “provocative”.
PACSU also stated that such incident would have an impact on the precarious state of the reconciliation process. For peace and tranquility to prevail in the area, PACSU requested the NSCN (IM) to return the seized arms at the earliest and also revoke the newly created Saramati Region.
The union also extended its support to YTC, Public Forum and GB’s Union of Pungro Area with regard to creation of Saramati region. PACSU stated that bifurcation of Yimchunger region by NSCN (IM) was totally against the wishes of Yimchunger people and was like an imposition of “divide and rule policy”.
