Pilgrim School, Dimapur received the state’s winner trophy of ‘Be a fan of Dignity’ from actor and brand ambassador of Special Olympics Bharat, Askhay Kumar at Bangalore on October 30.
During the mega prize distribution event, the winner’s trophy and a certificate of merit was received by Sanjay Sutradhar and Tokaho T. Yeptho, a teacher and a student representative from Pilgrim School, Dimapur.
A certificate of merit was also awarded all those schools that have contributed more than 5000 signatures to ban the R-word (retarded).
The schools from Dimapur district that took part in the signature campaign were; St. Mary Montessori School, Living Stone Foundation Hr. Sec School, St. Paul Hr. Sec School El-Shaddai Academy.
Schools from Kohima district included; Govt. Hr. Sec School and Minister’s Hill Baptist Hr. Sec School.
Meanwhile special Olympics Bharat - Nagaland has expressed gratitude to all those schools that has stood to show equality and respect to the mentally challenged and also congratulated Pilgrim school for bagging the state’s winner trophy.
