Phom gazetted officers association formed

The formal launching programme and first session of Phom Gazetted Officers Association (Phom Longvang Pangthai) was held at DC conference hall, Longleng on November 5 with ADC Y Denngan Avennoho Phom as chairman (interim) and SDO (Civil) B Henok Buchem as secretary (interim).
During the session, the following officers were elected as office bearers of the union; ADC Y Denngan Avennoho Phom as president, Dy CMO Dr. O Kongyan Phom as vice president, SDAO B Nyenghong Phom as general secretary, Dy director Dr Anungla Imdong and vice principal B Henshet Phom as secretaries, DHO C Bhuphom as finance secretary, CJM O Purnuken Phom as legal consultant.
The association also selected the following members as constitution drafting committee; ADC M Shayu Phom as convener while its members include Dy director Dr. W Hentok Phom, Dy director Dr. Anungla Imdong, vice principal B Henshet Phom and SDO (Civil) B Henok Buchem.
The association further informed that all government servants including central government employees appointed on regular basis in the rank of Gazetted Officer class II & above will be eligible to become a member. The second general session will be held on April 15, 2011 where both parliamentary secretaries from Phom community, delegates from PPC, APGO, PBCA, PSC, Phomla Hoichem, retired Phom gazetted officers and other senior public leaders would be invited.
Meanwhile, the association also constituted two teams to make spot inquiry and suggest remedial measures on the poor HSLC result of government high schools of Bura Namsang and Sakshi. The members for GHS Bura Namsang include ADC M Shayu Phom, lecturer C Theppen Noklang and CDPO Y Tauhong Phom while for GHS Sakshi Dy CMO Dr O Kongyan Phom, DHO C Bhuphom and vice Principal Henshet Phom.
