The five days ‘Festival of Hope’ concluded on Tuesday with a larger turnout than the last 4 days. The crusade witnessed people from different age groups and religion thronging to the venue with a hope of getting healed.
It was disappointing to see most portion of the huge DDSC stadium unoccupied, given the fact that our state has 99% Christians. Nevertheless, for those who attended the crusade, it was a time of re-connecting with God and receiving healing His healing touch.
From the young to the old, lame, deaf, those affected by cancer and HIV each of them had their own testimony – healing by faith.
Akbar, in his 20 had been blind for the past 3years and had attended the crusade with his mother with the hope of being healed. While interacting, Akbar believed that he was touched by God as he could see the brightness of the scoop (stage light) even though he was unable to distinguish objects clearly.
On the other hand, a young man also in his 20’s, diagnosed with HIV on January 4, 2010, was ecstatic as he no longer felt weak like he used to experience in the early stage of his diagnosis. Though he didn’t muster the courage to walk up to the stage and witness before the congregation, one could see the joy emanating from his face.
The speaker of ‘Festival of Hope’, Rev. Tom Elie thanked the entire pastoral representatives of different Churches for their initiative in organizing the crusade.
He further encouraged the team to continue upholding their noble work of reaching out to the people.
Earlier, invocation was pronounced by Pastor Pusham. Leader for evening service was Rev. Zanao Lotha, and choral presentations made by Eastern Bible College and Konyak Baptist Church Youth. Vote of thanks was delivered by Pastor, BRC, Nagarjan, Khriesito Savino, while the scripture reading was read out by Pastor Pusheto Chishi from Zechariah Ch1, 1-9.
