Criticizing the recent reported statement of Lok Sabha MP C.M Chang that he gets less chance to speak for Nagas at the parliament as he represented small regional party, the Socialist Janata Party (SJP) Tuesday demanded the MP to resign on “moral ground’. Socialist Janata Party (SJP) national vice president I.S. Akhei Achumi, in a statement, further criticized Chang for not being able to take his own responsibility as a member of parliament, saying there was no question to how “big or small” regional or national party he belonged to. Meanwhile, the SJP also flayed the extension of “Disturbed Area” tag on Nagaland under AFSPA by the Centre, and sought clarification from union home minister as to why the tag was extended to a period of eight months. As per the constitution, extension of ‘Disturbed Area’ could only be made for a period of six months or one year, he said.
