ABC 2nd anniversary
KOHIMA: The Awakening Bell Centre (ABC) would be celebrating its 2nd anniversary on November 12, 11am at ABC Complex with Chotisuh Sazo, parliamentary secretary for Social Welfare as chief guest.

Ethnic Committee meeting
DIMAPUR: Ethnic Committee of 2nd North East Agri Expo has convened a meeting with all Tribal Hohos of Nagaland on November 19 in the Agri expo site, Dimapur at 10am. All presidents/representative of Tribal Hohos have been requested to attend the meeting.
Seminar on consumer awareness
DIMAPUR: Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection in association with Consumer Society Dimapur would be organizing a seminar on ‘Wake up Consumers’ on November 13, 10 am at Ana-Ki Dimapur. Dimapur Bar Association president Imti Imsong and NVCO president Kezhokhoto Savi will be the chief guest and resource person respectively. Members of GB union Dimapur, Naga Mothers’ Association Dimapur, DNSU and Dimapur chamber of commerce have been requested to attend the programme.
‘Octave 2010’ curtain raiser
DIMAPUR: North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) would be organising ‘Octave 2010’ curtain raiser on November 12, at its complex in Dimapur at 4:30pm. The Octave 2010 (Festival of the North East) would be inaugurated by Director North Central Zone Cultural Centre (NCZCC), Anand Shukla, IPS, stated an official bulletin.
The festival is specially designed to introduce the cultural heritage all the eight states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura to other parts of the country, hence the name Octave (north east festival).
Seminar on eco development held
DIMAPUR: Seminar on economic development organized by Zeme Community Welfare Organisation (ZCWO) in collaboration with Zeme Baptist Church (ZBC), Jalukie Town was held on November 5 at ZBC, Jalukie town with Dr. Mapu Ao, DVO Peren and Dr. Suilube, VAS, Dimapur as resource persons.
According to a press note, the resource persons spoke on the topic, “Scientific care and management of swine and economic importance of poultry backyard farming”.
Meanwhile, ZCWO (J) and ZBC (J) have expressed gratitude to the resource persons for their services rendered towards economic uplift of the community.
KOHIMA: Angami Catholic Union Kohima has conveyed its wishes the new team of office bearers of the union. The new team is led by Nosazol Charles as president, Patrick Letgong and S. Mathew Sangtam as vice presidents, Elias T. Lotha as general secretary, Neingulie Michael Krome and K.A Jacob as joint secretaries, Lhousarovi Paul Rino as treasurer and Rev.Dr. Abraham Mhonchan as spiritual director.
DIMAPUR: Naga Educated Youth Group of Purana Bazar Area has formed an organization under the name ‘East Dimapur Youth Organization (EDYO)’ with its motto ‘Progressive Youth’.
The new organization was formed during the meeting held on June 11. According to the newly elected president and general secretary of EDYO, the aim of the organization was to introduce awareness so as to empower the vulnerable sections of the society by building up their capacities through education, community development, health care and eco-environment.
DEO Phek on B. Ed training
DIMAPUR: District Education Officer (DEO) Phek, P. Chisapa has informed, all interested candidates (in-service teachers) who would like to undergo B. Ed training 2011, to collect application forms from DEO or DIS. Forms have to be dully filled and recommended by concerned DIS/Principal/HM and submitted to DEO on or before November 20, stated DEO, and informed that PGT/GT/SIS/Supervisors who possess 45 percentages of marks at BA/MA or equivalent degree are eligible to apply for B. Ed.
SVC, SVSU condemn assault on woman
DIMAPUR: Senjum village council (SVC) and Senjum village students’ union have condemned the assault on Yamoni Mozhui, wife of Notsuo Mozhui allegedly by SI women cell Dimapur on November 3 “without interrogation”.
SVC expressed shock that Yamoni was implicated with her daughter by the SI on charges of kidnapping Moilem Phom a class 12 student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur who was the classmate of Yizano Mozhui- Yamoni’s daughter.
The village council also alleged that Yamoni was beaten black and blue by the police at women cell. Condemning the act of the SI, the village council has appealed to the authority in charge to investigate the matter and on what ground Yamoni was implicated.
Farmers’ training on oil seed crop held at Noklak
DIMAPUR: Department of agriculture Noklak sub-division organized a one-day farmers’ training on oil seed crops on November 9. SDAO Noklak L. Sunep apprised participants on the importance of oil seeds to improve rural economy, while importance of IPM in farmers’ field and impact of bio-fertilizer applications on varieties of crops were demonstrated by AFA Bukie. The training was attended by progressive farmers and members of SHGs. Rabi seeds were distributed to trainees after the programme.
‘Christian leadership’ seminar
DIMAPUR: A seminar on ‘Christian Leadership’ for legislators and wives on the theme ‘Leadership, Style “Leaders Arise”, will be held at Assembly Conference Hall Kohima on November 13 with Coordinator of GIPNA, Rev. Louliehu Yimsung as resource person. According to an official bulletin, the first session of the day will be chaired by Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Kiyaneilie Peseyie while invocation prayer will be pronounced by General Secretary, Dr. Anju Keikung. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will address the gathering.
Wokha DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: Meeting of Wokha DPDB has been rescheduled on November 15 and not on November 16 as informed earlier. An official bulletin further informed that the venue of the meeting has been shifted to New Wokha village at 11am. The meeting would be followed by Tokhu picnic for which all heads of offices and DPDB have been informed to be present.
DIS Zunheboto on GPF statement
DIMAPUR: DIS Zunheboto has informed all teacher in-charge/head teacher of GPS/GMS under DIS Zunheboto to produce their respective school teachers/staff GPF account number and collect GPF statement/balance sheet for year 2009-10 from November 15 onwards during office hour.
KBAN to organize Haosa Camp
DIMAPUR: The first Haosa Camp, organised by Kuki Baptist Association Nagaland, would be held from November 12 to 14 at KBA centre, Khaibung. KBAN has requested all GBs, village chairman and VDB secretary, and pastors and head deacon of Kuki churches to attend the conference.

Adhoc employees under DIS Niuland informed
DIMAPUR: All adhoc employees under DIS Niuland who have been redeployed from DIS have been informed to submit appointment order, date of appointment and birth to the office latest by November 15. DIS Niuland Kitoli Naje has informed all employees to take the matter as urgent. Meanwhile, EBRC Niuland has informed Schools under EBRC to submit enrollment of students and complete bio-data of teachers with date, month, and year of joining in service to the coordinator latest by November 16.
Shozukhu-Zukihe temporary road open
DIMAPUR: Zuhike village council (ZVC) Thursday informed that the temporary road between Shozukhu village and Zukihe village has been repaired and is now open to traffic. The road that passes through the river had been closed since the arrival of monsoon. Every year this temporary road, which connects all the surrounding villages, remains cut-off during the rainy season.
‘Ahuna’ festival celebration
SNW: Sumi National Workers Welfare (SNWW) would be celebrating Ahuna festival on November 13 at CHQ Hebron. All Sumi national workers from civil and army set up have been requested to attend the programme.

PGSU-Lumami reiterates demand
DIMAPUR: Post Graduate Students’ Union Lumami (PGSU-L) has served ultimatum to Nagaland University VC Prof. K. Kannan to fulfill its demand before November 25.
Reiterating its earlier demand made to the VC on June 17 and March 11, PGSU-L in a letter addressed to the VC has demanded for separate administrative set up for Kohima campus, demand for pro-vice chancellor with full staff for NU, campus Kohima (now Meriema). The union also demanded for advertisement of teacher post which has been vacant, immediate effect of master plan and campus development with university fund and transportation for students. KOHIMA: Department of Science & Technology, (DoS&T) would be organizing a 10 day training programme on composite plastic from November 15. Registration for the training would start from 9am to 9.30 am followed by inaugural function. Dr. Zavei Hiese, senior scientific officer has requested all the applicants to register their names for the training.
