HSLC centre at Pungro; govt lauded

In yet another development in the filed of education in the rural areas by state government, the High School Leaving Certificate exam centre is likely to open at Pungro town.
In this connection, the co-ordination meeting was convened at Pungro town on November 8 for discussing the matter where the forms and instructions of opening of HSLC exam centre was sent from the higher authority. The programme was chaired by SDO Civil Pungro town.
During the meeting, various organizations including, Yimchungru Akheru Arih Ako, (YAA) Pungro Area College Students Union (PACSU) Public Forum Pungro Sub- Division (PFPSD), GB’s Union Pungro Town, Yimchungru Women Organization (YWO), Pungro Adhoc- Town Committee, Yimchungru Tribal Council (YTC) Pungro sub-division and public leaders assured to extend full cooperation towards the department and government. Parliamentary Secretary for CAWD, T. Torechu, who attended the coordination meeting, urged the student leaders and public leaders to utilize the opportunity offered by the government in a proper way for the uplift of the student’s community.
Torechu also assured to extend financial support of `1 lakh yearly towards the HSLC exam centre, till the end of his tenure ship as the Member of Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile, Public Forum Pungro Sub- Division (PFPSD) has lauded the effort made by state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphu Rio, Dr. Shurhozelie, minister for higher education, urban development and parliamentary secretary for CAWD T. Torechu for initiating such developmental activity towards the people of Pungro area.
S. Kiusumew Yimchungru, President PFPSD, in an appreciation note, expressed gratitude to state government for bringing educational development in the far flung areas.
