NDFB warns

Boro rebel group, National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), while making an appeal to all the communities residing in Boro belt and “security forces or other Indian communities” not to “make any mistake or crime against NDFB,” Thursday warned that “result might be heinous and horrible one”. Observing that most of the noted Boro and non-Boro leaders finds publicity only when NDFB attacks, the outfit’s organizing secretary B. Naison, in a statement said. “When the security forces brutally kill any innocent Boro youth, students and farmers they have no words to condemn at all.” He added that nobody came forward to protest against security forces. With regard to this, the NDFB appealed to all Boro frontier organisations, BPF leaders, Boro Sahitya Sobha, ABSU and other Boro organisations to make judgments, condemn and protest against atrocities committed by security forces during operations in Boro villages. The NDFB further urged upon all the Boro people to unite and stand united against the enemy. Our Diphu Correspondent adds: Karbi Anglong district Congress Committee has strongly condemned the firing incident at Basateplong, near Dokmoka on Monday in which one Hindi speaking person was shot dead and seriously injuring another person by suspected NDFB (anti talk) group militants. Leaders of the Congress party have appealed to all section of people to desist themselves from any communal remarks and appealed the authorities to initiate necessary security measures to prevent recurrence of violent activities in the district. Meanwhile, the ASDC has condemned NDFB (anti-talk faction) for indulging in the killing spree. On the other hand, the various leftist organizations like CPI(ML) Hills Party Committee, the ASDC(P), KSA, KNCA, KANKIS, AISA, RYA, AIPWA, Kirsan ASDNG etc. in a joint statement condemned the incident of Basatiplong village in particular and the ongoing killing of innocent people at several places of Assam.
