Nagaland GB executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Nagaland GB federation has convened an executive meeting on November 19,11am at commissioner office conference hall Kohima. Meanwhile, the new office bearers would hold its advance meeting on November 18, 3 pm at the residence of Dr. K C Nihoshe, parliamentary secretary, Kohima (near Hotel Japfü Kohima). All have been requested to attend the meeting.
Workshop on Kuki language
DIMAPUR: Kuki Literature Board Nagaland will be organizing a workshop on Kuki language proficiency from December 13-15 at Phaipijang village. Intending participants have been requested to contact 9436603582, 9436013806, 9436614925 or 9436264431
Mechanical engineers meeting
DIMAPUR: Meeting of all Nagaland based mechanical engineers (B.E/B.Tech/M. Tech) has been convened on November 27 at NSF conference hall at 12 noon. Kikrusalie Kiewhuo, mechanical union Nagaland informed that registration fee of `100 and 200 would be charged for the unemployed and employed engineers respectively.
ANGDA meeting
KOHIMA: All Nagaland Government Drivers’ Association (ANGDA) has convened a general meeting on November 20, 10am at the office of CANSSEA conference Hall. All departments, units, sub-units have been informed to send representatives at the meeting and president and general secretary of all the units to submit total strength of its bonafide members with list of names, designation and contact numbers.
ENPU general meet
DIMAPUR: A general meeting of all Eastern Nagaland People’s Union (ENPU) Wokha has been convened on November 20 at its community hall Wokha at 9 am. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
National Press Day on Nov 16
DIMAPUR: Kohima Press Club (KPC) and Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Nagaland would be observing National Press Day on the theme “Global Warming and Climate Change” on November 16, 11am at office of Kohima Press Club, Kohima (Old Directorate building of IPR). Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Public Relations, Economic and Statistics, R. Tohanba would grace the occasion as the chief guest.
State level youth festival in Nov 16
DIMAPUR: The department of youth resources and sports would be organising the 11th State Level Youth Festival 2010, at Indira Gandhi Stadium on November 16. In the inaugural function, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Bendang Longchari would grace the occasion as the chief guest and in the closing function, director youth resources & sports, Sachopra Vero would attend the function as the chief guest.
ATAN inform members
DIMAPUR: Aggrieved Teachers Association of Nagaland (ATAN) has convened a meeting before the examination on November 13, at the exam venue at 8:15am. All members have been requested to submit particulars required for the examination.
SCERT on NTS exam
DIMAPUR: Department of State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) Kohima, would be conducting the state level combine examination of the National Talent Search (NTS) and National Means-cum-merit scholarships examination on November 20 from all district headquarters. Altogether 506 candidates would appear for the exam. Candidates have been informed that the time schedule for Mental Ability Test starts from 8:30am to 10am and for Scholastic Aptitude Test from 11am to 12:30pm.

PVBC Church building dedication
DIMAPUR: Phek Village Baptist Church (PVBC) new church building would be dedicated on November 21, 10 am. Executive secretary of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), Rev. V. Tetse-o would inaugurate the new Church project while minister for health and family welfare, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu would extend greetings on behalf of the community. All Phekmi including those residing outside Phek village have been invited to be part of the program.
LVGEU fellowship
DIMAPUR: Longla Village Government Employees Union (LVGEU) 6th 5 year ending general fellowship cum annual prayer programme would be held on November 21, 8am at Baptist Church office building Longla village under the theme ‘Faithful servant’. The speaker of the programe would be Khocherao Ngullie, pastor B/Church. All government employees of Longla village have been informed to attend the programme.
ENSU Guwahati new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Guwahati (ENSUG) elected a new team of office bearers on November 2. The new team would be headed by Laji Yimchunger as president, Hontong Konyak as vice president and Lanphong Konyak as general secretary among two others office bearers, executives and assistants. While expressing gratitude to the outgoing office bearers and members for their selfless contribution to the union, president ENSUG, Laji Yimchunger has informed all Eastern masses, sick or deceased, students who come to greater Guwahati to avail the union’s assistance and to contact 09613002077 (president) or 09707230313 (general secretary).
3rd KSU assembly session
DIMAPUR: The Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) assembly secretariat would be organizing its 3rd assembly session scheduled on November 23 at LTC hall Wokha town. KSU further informed those units willing to put-up agendas to send it officially in their respective union writing pad and submit it to the assembly secretariat before the commencement of the assembly before 9:30am, adding, no agendas will be entertained after the deadline. All senior leaders, elders, various conveners and members of Platinum Jubilee Committees have been invited at the scheduled assembly session.
Kyong Vontsoniroden IMC hall
DIMAPUR: Around 40 artistes and comedians would be performing at the “Kyong Talent nite” (Kyong Vontsoniroden) on November 13 at 3pm at IMC Hall, Dimapur. Dongphi Chokae Okho (DCO) is organizing the programme. During the programme, a Lotha Jokes “emalaktaden” volume number 1 would be published by Additional director Land resources, Mhathung Yanthan. The invocation prayer would be said by Rev. Mhathung Kyong, Lotha Baptist Church, Dimapur.
NPF Phek consultative meeting
DIMAPUR: NPF Phek division has convened a consultative meeting on November 16 at Phek from 10am. All the NPF central office bearers, CEC members from Phek division along with the division office bearers, frontal organizations and area constituency office bearers have been requested to attend the meeting.
LWSK social gathering
KOHIMA: Lazami Welfare Society Kohima (LWSK) would be conducting one day social gathering at Kisama Naga Heritage n November 13. All Lazami community residing in Kohima town have been informed to take part in the gathering. Buses will leave at 8 am at High School Junction and NST Station.
Rainbow Networking emergency meet
DIMAPUR: Rainbow Networking has convened an emergency meeting will be held November 13 at DUDA Guest House at 4pm over duping case and shutdown of the company. All are to attain the same without fail.
Schools under Wka asked to submit formats
DIMAPUR: District education officer (DEO) Wokha, has reminded all principals, headmasters, head teachers and teacher in charges of GHSS, GHS, SMS, GPS both government and private schools under Wokha district to submit monitoring format for government schools only and for DISE both government and private schools. Monitoring formats are to be submitted to respective EBRCs coordinators, Wokha, Sanis, Bhandari on or before November 25, informed DEO Wokha E. Nzinimo Odyuo. He further stated that salaries for the month of November would be held up on failing to submit the forms.
NVC demand action against IR personnel
DIMAPUR: The Nihoto Village Council (NVC) on Friday demanded action against IRB personnel reportedly involved in the assault on three of its members and one member from Hakhizhe village on November 10.
A press release issued by the council and student body alleged that the victims were beaten up without any rhyme or reason and verbally abused too. They also further maintained that one of the victim’s was ‘mercilessly kicked’ despite his pleas that he had undergone major surgery.
The council also cautioned that they will resort to their own course of action according to the customary law, if no action was taken against the IRB personnel by November 19.
Lijaba Lijen ward Mkg inaugurated
DIMAPUR: Lijaba Lijen Ward, 18th ward in Mokokchung Town which was officially notified in August 2009 was inaugurated by DC Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi. She also unveiled the monolith at the inaugural function was attended by municipal officials, leaders from all wards and public of Lijaba Lijen Ward. It may be recalled that three new wards namely Mongsen Bai, Marepkong and Lijaba Lijen were approved through a government notification in august 2009.
3 injured in accident
KOHIMA, NOV 12 (NPN): Three occupants of a Tata Mobile registration number NL -11/1985 belonging to the state power department were injured when the vehicle rolled below the road near Traffic Control Office Midland colony Kohima on Friday at around 7: 10 pm. The vehicle was reported to be heading towards town area at a high speed when the accident occurred and rolled down at least 10 - 15 feet before it hit a tree. All three injured have been hospitalized and one of them was stated to be in a critical condition. (Correspondent)
Special handloom expo at Zunheboto
DIMAPUR: Parliamentary secretary, industries and commerce, Dr. K.C. Nihoshe inaugurated special handloom expo as chief guest at Public Ground Zunheboto on November 11. The chief guest while interacting with the individual entrepreneurs, societies and SHGs, encouraged them and stressed on quality and scale production for marketability.
Altogether, around 100 entrepreneurs are participating in the show. The programme is being organised by department of industries and commerce.
Consultation programme for PLHIV
DIMAPUR: Network of Naga People Living with HIV and AIDS (NNP+) with support from Legislature Forum on AIDS (LFA-UNAIDS), Nagaland is organizing a two-day consultation cum capacity building for economic sustainability development of People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) on November 16 and 17 at Hotel Grandeur, Kohima.
E. Mhonbemo Patton, commissioner and secretary, planning and coordination would grace the workshop as guest of honor on the concluding day while government department directors, HoDs will be the resource persons. The meeting would be attended by PLHIVs from all DLNs (districts).
NE fair on ACP at Maova village
DIMAPUR: North East India Knowledge Fair on AIDS Competence Process (ACP) was held on November 10 and 11. The fair was hosted by Maova village, organized by PNF and Supported by ADB – India Competence with the objective to provide a platform to share the learning and strategies applied to compete with the HIV and AIDS by communities.
The fair showcased the experiences from the states of Karnataka, Delhi, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland. Participants from PNF, NEDHIV, DNP+, Dimapur Youth Club, Kekhrie Foundation, Cultural Club Athibung, N – Naga Dao, Bethesda Youth Welfare Center, Renth Youth Mission, NSACS, ANP+, INP+, Care India, Samraksha attended the program.
