Ban on selling of birds, hunting, fishing

Wokha Town Council (WTC) has reminded the public of Lotha area to restrain from trapping and selling of migratory birds.
Wokha Town Council stated that anybody found selling the migratory birds would be penalized with a fine of `5000 as required U/S.470/471 of Municipal Act of 2001.and police action would also be taken against defaulters.
The public of Wokha district have been requested to comply with the order strictly to avoid any problems in future.
Meanwhile, Meriyan Village Council (MVC) has informed all interlopers who come for picnic/fishing/hunting at ‘Nzhu area’ under MVC jurisdiction to report to council office for their safety.
Anyone violating the rules and regulation would be penalized and necessary action would be taken in accordance with customary law of the village, added Meriyan Village Council.
