Training for census phase II held

Director Census Officer and IAS Hekali Zhimomi here on Friday disclosed that the quality of data provided by the charge officers in the census phase I operation was appreciable and urged officers to be alert while carrying out with their next task (Phase II).
In her introductory speech at the district level training for charges officers for census 2011 phase II at DC conference hall, the director pointed out that the quality of work done by the charge officers during phase I of census has made a huge impact on quality of data.
However, she admitted that lot had to be completed in phase II which would commence from January next.
The director also suggested the charge officers to select the right enumerators and supervisors to make available accurate figures unlike the 2001 data, which had lost its creditability.
To ensure smooth functioning while collecting data, Hekali also reminded the charge officers to understand why census is been conducted and make the village functionaries aware of the relevance of the census.
Earlier, ADC Dimaur, Sedevikho Khro welcomed the participants to the training. Participants were from various departments including security personnel.
At the training, an introduction of population enumeration, objective, dates, reference period, legal provision, abridged house list, house numbering, layout map, household schedule-familiarization, location and other information was presented by research officer, R.N. Chhipa.
Friday's training programme was organized by Directorate of Census Operation, Nagaland Kohima.
The calendar for phase II is as follows:
January 2011- Training for Enumerators and Supervisors
February 6-11- Identified of boundaries and preparation of lay out map by the enumerators
February 9 to 28-Actual population of enumerators
February 28- Enumerators of houseless households
March 1 to 5- Revision round
March 7- provisional population total to be sent to DCO by the charges officers
March 15- Validated population totals to be sent to the Registrar General of India.
March 31- Provisional population total to be declared by the central government.
