More than 500 delegates from seven states of north east India attended the second day of 23rd triennial conference of the Assemblies of God of East India (AGEI) on Friday evening.
The three-day conference organised on the theme ‘Each one win one’ at Bethesda Higher secondary school (New complex), Walford, Dimapur, will conclude on November 13.
Speaker of the evening, general superintendent, AGI, Rev. Dr. D.Mohan sharing the word of God from 2Corin 4:1, said “Working for God is not an easy job, as you will be faced with people who opposes you, suffocate you and come against you, but that will be the time when you will receive anointing, and grace”.
Refusing to acknowledge those who work for God for namesake, he said, “Through canvassing if you come for ministry, people will come over and crush you one day. You must be appointed by God.You should be chosen by God.”
While encouraging the gathering, he said one must not be discouraged to do God’s ministry because His mercy will be upon them. Quoting from 2Corin. 3:4-5, he further went on to add that God has given each one a wonderful and glorious ministry, confidence of faith and competence of new covenant in the heart, and should not lose heart to do His ministry.
He commended that one of the main purpose of coming to this earth was “to give life to people, to help people to give them new life, share life with other people.” The speaker further urged the gathering to always encourage their children, co-workers, fellow believers, and to “pick up the right word at the right time” to do his glorious ministry.
Other speakers of the conference included Area Director for India, AGWM, Rev. Bob Mc Gurty and Executive Co-ordinator for AGEI, AGWM, Rev. Dr. Dale Decker.
Earlier in the afternoon, election for new AGEI office bearers for the tenure 2010-13 was held, where Rev. Dr. Moses Murry was re-elected as general superintendent AGEI, Rev. Ng. K. Haokip as assistant general superintendent, and Rev. J. Samuel as general secretary among other four executive members.
