2 NDFB men held; says 60 recruits in Dmu

Two NDFB guerrillas have been arrested in Tizit, Mon, in the wee hours of Saturday, while on the way to Myanmar, police said.
Talking to Nagaland Post over the phone, SDPO Tizit said a team of police was activated in response to receipt of specific information about the movement of NDFB activists and conducted frisking at Tizit check gate.
Subsequently the two NDFB members were apprehended from the bus that was en route to Mon. One of them escaped, it was later confessed by the arrested.
Police said the arrested, identified as one Jeremiah (32) and Sanjay (28), both hailing from Assam’s Bongaigaon district, were on their way to Myanmar via Mon, to undergo training there. Sanjay was senior NDFB member while Jeremiah was newly recruited cadre, police said.
Upon interrogation, the arrested NDFB cadres confessed that they were dispatched from Dimapur to proceed to Myanmar, police said. They also confessed that around 60 newly recruited cadres were camping in Dimapur, who are also on their way to Myanmar to undergo training.
SDPO said he has already conveyed information to SP Dimapur about the development. SDPO further informed that a case has been registered with Tizit police station and investigation on.
Meanwhile, SP Dimapur Z Mero, when contacted, admitted he had received information from Tizit police and said his men has been put on alert around Dimapur.
